The Return of Godzilla
Hiroshi is a fisherman aboard the Yahata Maru, and uses his salary to pay for his sister's education. The ship goes adrift in the film's opening, and sustains a Godzilla attack. Sometime after the attack, the ship is again attacked, but this time by Shockirus, from which Hiroshi is the only survivor. He is later discovered and rescued by reporter Goro Maki. When he returns to Japan, he is quarantined, due to his discovery and any details around the Godzilla attack would cause widespread chaos (but also likely due to she Shockirus attack). After he is released, he is re-united with his sister, and they, along with Doctor Hayashida & Goro Maki, search for a way to stop Godzilla. He assists Hayashida in testing the machine that was created for this purpose, by video-taping the attack on a nuclear plant. When the idea is formed to trap Godzilla in Mount Mihara, Hiroshi is sent to seek help from a colleague of Hayashida's. the two then go to Mihara in order to see if it is fit for such a plan. From the mountain, he flies with the military to rescue the other main cast, but there is only time to take Hayashida. He and the Doctor then put the machine Hayashida developed into an amplifier to lure Godzilla away from the city. He watches as Godzilla falls into Mount Mihara.
