After the awakening and subsequent breakout of the male MUTO, the USS Saratoga (CVN-88) received the survivors including Ford Brody, Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham. The body of Joe Brody, who had passed away from his injuries before the helicopter made it to the carrier. The Saratoga later deployed fighter jets to Oahu to assist in finding a missing Russian submarine. During this, Godzilla appeared, swimming underneath the ship before making landfall in Honolulu to challenge the male MUTO, which had been the culprit behind the disappearance of the Russian submarine and was now wreaking havoc at the Honolulu International Airport. Later, the Saratoga trailed Godzilla heading towards the West Coast while monitoring the emergence of the female MUTO] in Las Vegas. The ship stayed off the shore of California to avoid the female MUTO's EMP field as Admiral Stenz and Serizawa traveled to San Francisco.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
A few carriers along with other warships surrounded the Monarch installation at Castle Bravo due to the fallout from King Ghidorah awakening the sleeping Titans. At least one Nimitz later engaged Rodan and King Ghidorah in Washington, D.C., with at least one being sunk and washed up to the city.
Godzilla vs. Kong
At least two ships of this class (including the USS Nimitz) were part of a convoy escorting Kong to the Hollow Earth entrance in Antarctica. During Godzilla's interception, these ships launched F-35s to defend against the Monster King. After Kong was released, he hopped onboard the Nimitz by using a nearby Ticonderoga-class cruiser as a stepping stone. Godzilla, seeing the events unfold, climbed onto the aircraft carrier to fight Kong. Godzilla had the upper hand before several F-35s intervened, giving Kong the opportunity he needed to knock Godzilla off the carrier. After a brief skirmish between Godzilla and Kong, the latter climbed back on the carrier, though bailed just before Godzilla cut the ship in half with his atomic breath; the debris of the carrier sank around the two Titans as they continued fighting underwater. The other carrier presumably powered down per Nathan Lind's suggestion, playing dead so as to make Godzilla believe he had won the engagement.
