Mechagodzilla (メカゴジラ,   Mekagojira) refers to multiple mechas that appeared throughout the main IDW Publishing continuity consisting of Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters, Godzilla, and Godzilla: Rulers of Earth.

Design

All three of the suitmation Mechagodzilla designs were used in IDW's ongoing storyline. The Detroit Mechagodzilla is based on the Heisei incarnation. Kiryu utilizes his Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla backpack in Godzilla and his Godzilla: Tokyo SOS backpack in Godzilla: Rulers of Earth. The mass-produced Russian/Cryog Mechagodzillas seen in Rulers of Earth utilize the Showa design, with them being distinguished from each other through numbered shoulder sigils similar to those seen on Mechagodzilla 2.
