  • Shinomura attacks Busselton, Western Australia. (Godzilla: Awakening)
  • Godzilla attacks Japan. (Godzilla Minus One)
    • Following Godzilla's emergence, he attacks numerous American vessels on a path towards Japan. Wary of inflaming tensions with the Soviet Union, the American government opts not to intervene, but authorizes the return of several Imperial Japanese Navy vessels to Japan, including the Takao and Yukikaze.
    • The crew of the Shinseimaru and Kaishinmaru minesweepers travel to the Ogasawara Islands to locate Godzilla. When he attacks them, they manage to evade him for long enough for the Takao to catch up. The warship engages Godzilla at close range, though is ultimately destroyed by his atomic breath.
    • Godzilla makes landfall in Tokyo and rampages through Ginza, eventually leveling the district with his atomic breath and killing thousands of people.
    • Operation Wada Tsumi is formulated to take down Godzilla, and is carried out in Sagami Bay. The operation is successful, and Godzilla's body falls apart, though a single piece begins regenerating as it sinks into the depths of the bay.
