Arachnis was originally an ordinary spider in Manhattan who absorbed a large amount of radiation and bit a student who obtained the abilities of a spider. While the student went to dress up in pajamas and do various bizarre deeds, the spider went into shock before coming out of its comatose state with a growing body and a ravenous hunger for humans. Substituting them for rodents and roaches, once it grew to eight-feet it tried out for the New York Knicks basketball team. After being turned down, Arachnis went on an angry rampage, mugging passersby, stealing cars, and setting fire to buildings.
The manual tells of an example scenario for Arachnis to engage in. Called Breakfast at Tiffany's, Arachnis goes hunting and eating the humans in New York City.
Arachnis is very fast and can shoot webs at its victims to slow them down.
Arachnis is not strong enough to destroy buildings by itself, thus it needs to set fires in order to cause destruction.
- Arachnis' origin references the origin of the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man.
