The De Laurentiis Company (DLC) is an American production company founded by prolific Italian-American film producer Dino De Laurentiis and his wife Martha as the Dino De Laurentiis Company (DDLC) in 1980. Preceded by De Laurentiis' previous production company, the Dino De Laurentiis Corporation, DLC served as the primary production company for the producer's films during the 1980s. Distribution was handled by the short-lived De Laurentiis Entertainment Group (DEG) from 1984 to 1989. After DEG shut down in 1989, its library was acquired by StudioCanal, MGM, and HBO Films. However, De Laurentiis' production company continued producing films which were distributed by other studios during the 1990s and 2000s, perhaps most successfully those of the Hannibal Lecter franchise. Following Dino De Laurentiis' death in 2010, his widow continued to serve as the chairperson of their company until her death in 2021. The De Laurentiis Company partners with other companies such as Universal Pictures and StudioCanal in the development of both film and television productions, one of its notable more recent productions being the television series Hannibal which ran from 2013 to 2015.
