Seriously, there are SO MANY datas not corresponding with what we have in Japan. I'm trying to help them fix because I was asked to help this wiki, but I'm getting sick of being reverted each time.

You guys say "sources", but have you ever doubted reliability of your "sources" written in English? Or do you say English sources are more reliable than Japanese ones?

I hope someone besides me would translate directly and properly from "Japanese" sources.

While, no, there is nobody else that is a native or fluent Japanese speaker on the team, we do have access to a wide variety of Japanese sources which we pull from on a frequent basis. We do not at all believe that English-language sources are superior, quite the contrary. The thing you must understand is that not all sources corroborate one another. In the case of the Mothra stats, they were reverted because we try to find the numbers which are supported by the ‘’’majority’’’ of sources, not just any one.

If you saw what I replaced your citations with, you would see they are Japanese books. It doesn't take much knowledge of Japanese to read "80メートル" and "15千トン". I will look through all the [JAPANESE! Since the ONLY "English source" that exists and is remotely worthwhile is Godzilla Compendium] books we have and add citations that give the G-series Mothra Imago a smaller size than the 1961 Imago, and add a note explaining the size inconsistency.

Sorry folks, I totally didn't notice to your replies. I've checked various publications by Toho, and the data I added was based on those. The book sources I cited were only two of those. And at least in Japan, those data have been considered as cannon unlike here.

Even some of the Japanese sources, many of which we have access to, give conflicting stats for the monsters. Mothra is one of the worst cases, we have an entire chart documenting the inconsistent statistics given for all forms and generations of Mothra in the Showa series. In fact, some sources are inconsistent on what the generations of Mothra even are. Rebirth of Mothra II Super Complete Works claims that the 1961 and 1964 Mothras are different generations while the vast majority of sources which we have count them both as First Generation. Mothra's statistics are just a mess, and the ones we were using on the Mothra page were simply the ones corroborated by the largest number of sources, and not just the most recent ones.

You can consult this chart to get an idea of how many different measurements multiple official Japanese books have given for the Showa Mothras throughout the years. Rest assured we are going to add more sources to Mothra's stats than just the Compendium, in fact we already have on most of the incarnation pages. It's just a matter of organizing all the sources by what stats they give for each incarnation of Mothra and actually collecting them on the primary Mothra page. We will be including notes explaining the inconsistency between different sources too.
