Ewata is a Kong trainer turned Queen of the Taguatu, who is the main character of the 2016 comic series Kong of Skull Island.

Ewata was a Kong trainer for the Tagu people, who fought her Kong against those of the Atu tribe. She raised her Kong on a principal of mutual respect rather than fear, which made them more like disciplined animals and less like prisoners. Her Kong Fer'rah lost the competition, and was snidely criticized by Usana, the princess of the Atu, who prefered the negative reinforcement used to train the Atu Kong. Ewata shrugged this off and made her way to the Kong ships, where they were boarding to search for grazing grounds. While at sea, Ewata awoke in order to to vomit before being called to the ship's cabin where it was revealed to her that the ship had drifted to Skull Island, which ancient accounts regard as being full of unspeakable horrors. Not deeming the ancient records to be credible, as they believed the sun and moon to be separate gods, she urged the boats to land and allow the Kong to forage the island. Before they can drop their anchors, the boats are attacked by gargantuan Pteranodons.
