Kamerus

Kamerus is a giant monster who is seen in Dark Horse Comics' Godzilla King of the Monsters, but is only named in Dark Horse Comics' Godzilla, King of the Monsters #0.
Name
Kamerus' name comes from kame (カメ), the Japanese word for "turtle."
Biography
An ancient creature, Kamerus was to return in the modern world with several other giant monsters such as Godzilla and Soran in the so-called 'Age of the Monsters". However, despite being mentioned by the prestigious Dr. Yoshiwara as being one of the creatures to be a menace to humanity, Kamerus never appeared to bring forth terror. The monster confronted Godzilla in the past, but Kamerus' ultimate fate is unknown.
Trivia
- Kamerus' name is only mentioned in Dark Horse Comics' Godzilla King of the Monsters #0, which featured a retelling of the Dark Horse Godzilla's origin story originally presented in Dark Horse's Godzilla King of the Monsters. In Dark Horse's Godzilla King of the Monsters, however, a giant snapping turtle-like creature is seen in a flashback battling against Godzilla while Dr. Yoshiwara explains the "Age of the Monsters" and also when Godzilla remembers his past world in Godzilla, King of the Monsters. It was unknown at the time if it was intended to be Kamerus, until it was confirmed by Dark Horse writer Randy Stradley on his Facebook account that the name Kamerus was indeed referring to the turtle monster.[1]
- The name Kamerus comes from the word "kame", which is Japanese for turtle, although writer Randy Stradley incorrectly believes it is "kamera" instead.
