Design

Marine Iguanas resemble gigantic mosasaurs. Their skin is covered by small green scales, with spikes growing out of their backs and throats. They possess big monitor lizard-like heads, with dozens of conical teeth protruding from them.

History

Kong of Skull Island

Kong of Skull Island #2

One Marine Iguana, with the help of five Pteranodons attacks the boat that carried the Tagu people, including Ewata, and various Tagu Kongs, tipping it over and sending all of the passengers into the water. Fer'rah attacked the enormous reptile, while some of the passengers reach the shore. Meanwhile, Valla and a Kong called Konga flip the boat back upright, all on Ewata's orders. After a long battle, Fer'rah manages to kill the Marine Iguana on the shores of Skull Island, and various Deathrunners feast on its carcass.

Kong of Skull Island #4

As a bunch of Deathrunners attack the humans, an Atu Kong trainer named Gret sends two of his Kong to attack them head one. The struggle results in a female Kong called B'lan being fatally wounded, and tackling the Deathrunners off of an ocean cliff and into the mouth of a Marine Iguana to protect her lover.

Kong of Skull Island #9

As K'vanni runs to the shore to be alone, she watches as one gigantic Marine Iguana breaches out of the water.

Abilities

Strength

Due to it's great size, Marine Iguanas are able to tip boats over by pushing them.

Durability

Marine Iguanas seem to possess great durability, as one of them was able to fight with a Kong for relatively long time, although it was ultimately overpowered by the giant ape.

Trivia

  • Despite being named Marine Iguanas, they actually resemble more mosasaurs than real life marine iguanas.
