After it was studied for a time, the second MUTO spore was taken to the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository where it lay dormant until the male MUTO's calls awoke it from its slumber 15 years later. Bursting from the mountain, the female MUTO attacked Las Vegas as she made her way to the male. Meeting up in San Francisco, the two MUTOs exchange a stolen nuclear war head before the female begins digging a nest. Godzilla arrives in the harbor, and after a brief skirmish with the military resulting in the destruction of the Golden Gate Bridge, enters the city. Godzilla engages and kills both MUTOs while Ford Brody takes the nuclear warhead out to sea on a tour boat. While Godzilla leaves the city, relief efforts are set up to help those effected by the titan's clash.
Emergency sirens blare on Batavia Island off the coast of Northern California. United World News reporter Jack Martin, his wife, Kaori, and his colleague Mitch Lawrence run out of a building and into a fleeing mob as cries for help fill the air. In the chaos, a large explosion echoes in the background, illuminating the silhouette of Anguirus. They flee from the creature, with Mitch reporting that there are two Anguirus in the area. Jack kisses Kaori before he runs off to pursue the rampaging pack. The Anguirus pack, now known to be two adults and one offspring, move deeper into the city, with Jack following. The next morning, Jack runs down an empty street only for the building behind him to collapse and reveal a skull-faced Anguirus. The monster hears Godzilla's roar in the distance and walks past Jack, but its tail damages a nearby building, burying him in the rubble. Godzilla makes landfall and destroys another building near Jack with his atomic breath. Kaori and a limping Mitch find Jack unconscious and injured, but still alive. Once he is conscous again, the group argues over Jack's obsessive willingness to continue chasing the monsters. Suddenly, Godzilla reappears and faces off with the Anguirus. The two monsters roar challenges at each other.
Deep in Brazil's Amazon Rain forest, a group of loggers are attacked by a colony of Giant Mutant Termites. Sometime later, the United Nations calls H.E.A.T. to the Amazon to find the reason behind the continued disappearance of large sections of the rainforest. Later, they are attacked by the giant termites and forced to flee back to the camp. After settling on using sound waves to defeat the termites, the mutants raze the camp, causing H.E.A.T. to flee once again and to call Godzilla. He soon arrives and attacks the termites, but is overwhelmed by a swarm of them. After the attack, Mendel Craven develops a sound-wave emitter that causes the termites to turn on each other. H.E.A.T sets up transmitters and enters the termites' mound while the creatures fight each other. The team becomes trapped in the tunnels, but Godzilla frees them by burrowing a new exit to the surface. The termite's nest is then blown-up by explosives H.E.A.T. planted while they were inside, ending the menace on the Amazon.
Godzilla and Megaguirus take their fight further inland while Ebirah flees back in to the ocean. Flying between the skyscrapers, Megaguirus absorbs a blast of Godzilla's atomic breath and fires it back as a massive atomic fireball that knocks Godzilla unconscious. She then grabs Godzilla and carries him southeast back to her nest. when he wakes up, the Meganulon and Megnula swarm him, piercing his skin before he lights the nest on fire with an atomic pulse. Megaguirus grabs Godzilla once again, piecing him with his stinger and draining his energy. The two crash into Machu Picchu, Peru and continue to fight before they are interrupted by an alien hunting pod crashing on them. Trilopods exit the pod and engage the two monsters. Godzilla: The Series ゴジラ ザ・シリーズ was an animated series co-produced by Adelaide Productions, Centropolis Television, and Columbia TriStar Television as a sequel to the 1998 film GODZILLA. The series follows the film's protagonist Dr. Niko "Nick" Tatopoulos, who discovers the sole surviving offspring of Godzilla in the ruins of Madison Square Garden. The new Godzilla imprints on Nick and quickly grows to adulthood, becoming a loyal ally to both his adopted father and all of mankind when he accompanies Nick and his humanitarian scientific team H.E.A.T. as they travel the world to protect innocent civilians from a host of malevolent mutated creatures. Godzilla: The Series ran for two seasons from September 12, 1998 to April 22, 2000; the first season consisting of 21 episodes and the second of 19, the last two of which were not originally aired on television in North America. Compared to the controversial film on which it was based, Godzilla: The Series was relatively well-received by viewers and fans of the franchise, and maintains a following to this day.
TOC
Plot
Immediately following the destruction of Godzilla's nest in Madison Square Garden and the military's extermination of the creature himself at the conclusion of the 1998 film, Dr. Niko "Nick" Tatopoulos receives permission from Colonel Anthony Hicks to survey the ruins of MSG and ensure none of the monster's eggs survived. During his search, Nick comes upon a single surviving egg which hatches into a Baby Godzilla, who imprints on Nick as his parent due to his being covered with amniotic fluid from the other eggs. The infant quickly grows to adulthood, but demonstrates an entirely different personality from his late biological father as well as greater physical strength and resilience and the ability to spit a powerful atomic heat ray. Nick joins forces with colleagues Dr. Elsie Chapman, Dr. Mendel Craven, and Randy Hernandez to form his own research outfit known as H.E.A.T., an acronym for Humanitarian Environmental Analysis Team, with the goal of researching and protecting mankind from the various mutated monsters appearing around the world. French secret service agent Monique Dupre joins H.E.A.T. in order to keep an eye on the new Godzilla, whose loyalty to Nick renders him an important ally to the team on its mission.

Throughout the series, H.E.A.T. travels the globe in order to research and contain the dangerous mutations spawned by nuclear testing and other human activity. Whenever the team is in danger, Nick is able to summon Godzilla to their aid in order to combat their monstrous foes. H.E.A.T. and Godzilla battle a host of original monsters created specifically for the show, such as Crustaceous Rex, the Giant Bat, and King Cobra. While most of the episodes' plots are unconnected, there is a loose sense of continuity throughout the show, with some characters and monsters reappearing following their debut episodes, though some episodes were aired out of chronological order. A recurring human antagonist is Cameron Winter, an eccentric corrupt billionaire and former academic rival of Nick's who is dedicated to ruining Nick and destroying Godzilla. Season 1 includes a trilogy of episodes paying tribute to the film Destroy All Monsters, in which the Leviathan Aliens take control of the mutations of Earth and unleash them across the globe in an effort to destroy human civilization. Godzilla's biological father is revived by the aliens as Cyber Godzilla and used to bring Godzilla himself under their control before he eventually regains his senses and fights back. In one episode, members of H.E.A.T. are cast into an apocalyptic future in which Godzilla and the mutations of Earth have been exterminated by genetically engineered monsters called D.R.A.G.M.A.s, and must travel back to the present in order to prevent this. In another, Godzilla mates with a female mutant Komodo dragon named Komodithrax and becomes the surrogate father to her unborn offspring while clashing with a Giant Turtle.
Discovery Zone attraction
In late 1998, the American children's entertainment chain Discovery Zone introduced new laser tag arenas to their stores based on Godzilla: The Series, called Godzilla Laser Adventure. The arenas included prints of monsters from the series, such as Godzilla and a Mutant Rat, along with a cityscape decorating the various walls and barricades. There were also points on the wall you could shoot, presumably for more points, such as one that glowed with a green star on the back of the Mutant Rat. It is unknown how many of the arenas were still available, if any, when Discovery Zone went out of business in December 2001.
Reception
Despite the negative reaction to the film on which it was based, Godzilla: The Series garnered surprisingly positive reactions from fans and it did well in the TV ratings. The series received praise for its portrayal of Godzilla, who unlike his parent from the film was given many of the character's traditional characteristics from the Toho films such as his fearless attitude and personality, heightened physical strength and durability, and his trademark atomic breath. The series was also recognized for retaining the tone and storytelling style of the Showa Godzilla films, featuring a heroic Godzilla battling a host of enemy monsters and even alien invaders. The series' human characters and their dynamics were also well-regarded, especially in comparison to their counterparts from the film.
Trivia
*Due to FOX's Standards and Practices policies at the time, Godzilla: The Series was unable to show or even mention death. As such there are no human fatalities shown in the entire series, while characters refer to slain monsters as "destroyed", rather than "killed." Even monsters could only be destroyed if they were not depicted as sentient.
**While this is mostly the case, in the episode "Shafted," there are some petrified and presumably dead miners, and in the episode "Future Shock", it is implied that a large portion of the human population was wiped out by the D.R.A.G.M.A.s in an alternate future.
*A short webcomic based on Godzilla: The Series was hosted on the show's website.
*Malcolm Danare, Kevin Dunn, and Michael Lerner all reprise their roles from GODZILLA. Nobuaki Fukuda, who provided the voice for Mendel Craven in Toho's Japanese dub for GODZILLA, reprises the role in the Japanese dub for Godzilla: The Series. Rica Matsumoto, who voiced Lucy Palotti in the Toho GODZILLA dub, voices the character Alexandra Springer in the Japanese dub for "S.C.A.L.E.", one of the episodes of Godzilla: The Series. In the show's Japanese dub, Nick was voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi, who voiced Victor "Animal" Palotti in both Japanese dubs for GODZILLA and would go on to voice Unberto Mori in the GODZILLA anime trilogy.
*Trendmasters created prototypes for a planned toy line based on Godzilla: The Series, but it was cancelled, along with the company's other planned Godzilla figures, when the company went bankrupt.
*Plushes of Godzilla, the Giant Turtle, Komodithrax, and her egg from Godzilla: The Series cameo in an episode of the 2021 anime series Godzilla Singular Point, along with a plush of Godzooky from the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla cartoon.
*This series shares some similarities with Tab Murphy's script treatment for GODZILLA 2, an unmade film sequel to the 1998 film. Both stories feature the hatchling from the first Godzilla's only surviving egg imprinting on Nick and going on to help defend humanity from other, more malevolent mutations. This second Godzilla possesses atomic breath in both stories as well. Monster Island, a location from the Showa Godzilla films, also appears in both stories. However, H.E.A.T. is absent from the GODZILLA 2 story, which also features the second Godzilla bearing a host of offspring, whereas the Godzilla from the cartoon is stated to be sterile.
*Numerous monsters were conceptualized for Godzilla: The Series, but did not end up appearing in an episode. Most of them were named after existing monsters from Toho's Godzilla films, such as Gigan, Manda, Megalon, and Moguera. These names were likely placeholders, as it was unfeasible to license monsters from Toho and receive approval for their portrayals, given the show's tight production schedule. Four of these unused monsters only appear near the end of the show's opening sequence.

Brazil is the largest and most populous county in South America. It hosts most of the Amazon rainforest, the largest rainforest in the world. The nation had a small feature in Godzilla, King of the Monsters as the home of Behemoth, though it is more prominent in the IDW Godzilla comic series.
The titan Behemoth lived in what would become Brazil as early as 12,000 years ago as indicated by cave paintings found by Monarch.

In the years leading up to Ghidorah's emergence, strange cloud formations seen over Brazil are deemed possible titan activity by Monarch. Later on, Monster Zero disappears into typhoon of his creation over Brazil, before heading to Isla de Mara after Rodan's emergence. Awakened by Ghidorah's call, Behemoth re-emerged in Brazil and attacked Rio de Janerio before being pacified by the Orca and later leaving for Boston. Sometime later, it was reported Behemoth's trail of destruction had begun to restore clear-cut portions of the Amazon rain forest.
Godzilla: Rulers of Earth
After strange eggs are found in a mine, Lucy, Kristina Sumres, and Jason Ford sent to Sao Paolo, Brazil, in order to investigate. Lucy enters a trance until the two pull her out of it, with Lucy stating that she was "out of it" the whole flight and that she had slept the entire way there. The three head to investigate the eggs which had since been brought into the city from the mine where they were found. Godzilla and Ebirah burst out of the harbor, bringing their fight on to dry land as Meganulon begin to hatch from the eggs. The Meganulon begin to cover the surrounding buildings and attack people in the vicinity. They swarm on to Ebirah, who retaliates by slicing through several of them with his claw. With Godzilla and Ebirah still engaged in combat, Megaguirus enters the battle. Throwing his opponent aside, Godzilla fires his atomic breath at Megaguirus, who easily dodges the attack. Megaguirus becomes overwhelmed and a trilopod assumes her form. The Megaguirus-Trilopod blasts Godzilla with a massive energy beam and carries him off to Los Angeles where the Cryogs have shot down SpaceGodzilla.
Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla are fighting in the ruins of Rio de Janerio, with the flaming wreckage of M.O.G.U.E.R.A. and Kiryu visible in the background. After knocking SpaceGodzilla to the ground, Godzilla fires his atomic breath at his downed foe, however, SpaceGodzilla fires his corona beam in response, causing a beam-lock that causes not only the death of both kaiju but the destruction of Earth.
Godzilla (2014)

Godzilla, King of the Monsters
In the wake of the MUTOs and Godzilla's fight in 2014, San Francisco became overgrown into a forest due to the Titan's radiation.
Pacific Rim Uprising
After the Kaiju War's end, many places across the world were still struggling to get back on their feet, including Santa Monica, California, where Stacker Pentecost's son Jake, a washout from the Jaeger program, lives as a thief stealing from the local Jaeger scrapyard. After taking a group into the scrap yard to sell them a part falls through, due to another thief taking the part moments before, Jake follows said thief back to their headquaters. The thief, Amara Namani, and Jake tussle for a moment until they are interrupted by the PDCC laying siege to the warehouse they were in. Working together, the two flee the PPDC in Amara's homemade Jaeger Scrapper until they run into November Ajax. After a brief ecounter, Scrapper is shut down on the beach by November Ajax's taser fists. They are detained in the city for a time before they are sent to Moyulan Shatterdome after Jake accepts an offer from his adoptive sister Mako Mori to rejoin the Jaeger program.

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus
After Mega Sharks existence is discovered, a plan is formulated to lure the creature into San Fransico bay so it may be captured. However, this plan fails with Mega Shark taking a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge before swimming back out to sea.

D-War
After her previous incarnation died 500 years prior, Narin Yun's reincarnation Sarah Daniels turns 20, making her the right age to be harvested by the Atrox. They arrive in Silver Lake, California, where they believe she will be found. The Atrox General invades the dreams of the Warrior of Heaven, Ethan Kendrick, to learn her location, and on receiving it, they send Buraki after her. They then raid an antique shop operated by the reincarnation of the Warrior of Heaven's mentor to retrieve their magic scrolls, which they use to summon their monsters Dawdler and the others to lay siege to the city. Ethan and Sarah attempt to flee the country, but they are captured by the Atrox and taken to their realm.

Zarkorr! The Invader
In California, Zarkorr bursts out of Mount Aurora and goes on a rampage through the surrounding area. After clashing with the California Nation Guard, it leaves the state on its trek towards Tommy Ward.

Heritage
KunshuGoji is an average Godzilla fan who was first introduced to the Godzilla Franchise inside of a Best Buy in 2010. He is also the one writing this in third person, which is a little awkward for him (what do you mean ABB already said that?).

Origins and History
KunshuGoji is a long-standing g-fan, being a fan since he was introduced to the franchise in Kindergarten by Mothra (1961) and Mothra vs Godzilla (1964). He first entered the Godzilla fan community on the now Gojipedia in 2016, during the months leading up to the fork, however he wasn't active for very long and stopped checking in before the split. Recently, he felt the urge to rejoin the wiki, and after learning of the fork, he created an account on Wikizilla.

Godzilla: The Series ゴジラ ザ・シリーズ was an animated series made as a sequel to the 1998 Pictures film, GODZILLA.
TOC
Plot
In the series, Godzilla (the baby that survived the destruction of Madison Square Garden and hatched from the egg at the end of the 1998 film--often nicknamed Godzilla Junior or Zilla Junior by fans) battles a large group of giant monsters. The show tracks Godzilla and team H.E.A.T. around the planet battling new mutations and other supernatural beasts.

The series not only had Godzilla battle several other kaiju, such as a Giant Bat, but also face a fleet of invaders known as "Leviathan Aliens" in a tribute to Destroy All Monsters, and an eccentric billionaire rival of Nick's. In an ironic twist from the original Godzilla TV adaptation, in the 1998 film, Godzilla has a flammable power breath similar to fire, while in the series, his son breathes a green atomic breath.
Reception
Despite the negative reaction to the film, Godzilla: The Series garnered surprisingly positive reactions from fans and it did well in the TV ratings. The series followed the adventures of Dr. Nick Tatopoulos, a major character from the film, and Godzilla's surviving baby. The series returned Godzilla's trademark characteristics to the monster in the series, including his strength and nigh-indestructibility, his atomic breath and general masculinity. This Godzilla follows Dr. Tatopoulos and the members of H.E.A.T around, having imprinted upon Nick as his own parent, and fights various other monsters that have been formed by nuclear radiation, in the style of the late Showa era. The fan response to the series was overall very positive, and the animated Godzilla gained much respect from those who hated the film.
Discovery Zone Attraction
In late 1998, Discovery Zone (an American children's entertainment chain) introduced new laser tag arenas to their stores themed around Godzilla: The Series. They were fairly standard arenas with prints of monsters from the series (Such as Godzilla and The Mutant Rat) along with a standard city-scape decorating the various walls and barricades. There were also points on the wall you could shoot (presumably for more points), such as one that glowed with a green star on the back of the Mutant Rat. The attraction was mostly likely discontinued after the show ended and when Discovery Zone went bankrupt in December 2001.
Trivia
*Due to FOX's Standards and Practices policies at the time, Godzilla: The Series was unable to show or even mention death. As such there are no human fatalities shown in the entire series, while characters refer to slain monsters as "destroyed" rather than "killed." Even monsters could only be destroyed if they were not depicted as sentient.
**While this is mostly the case, in the episode "Shafted", there are some petrified and presumably dead miners, and in the episode "Future Shock", it is implied that a large portion of the human population was wiped out by the D.R.A.G.M.A.s in an alternate future.
*A short webcomic based on Godzilla: The Series was hosted on the show's website.
*Starting in 1998, Discovery Zone locations featured a target game based on Godzilla: The Series called Godzilla Laser Adventure.
Rica Matsumoto, who voiced Lucy Palotti in the Toho GODZILLA dub, voices the character Alexandra Springer in the Japanese dub for Godzilla: The Series.
*In the show's Japanese dub, Nick was voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi, who voiced Victor "Animal" Palotti in both Japanese dubs for GODZILLA and would go on to voice Unberto Mori in the GODZILLA anime trilogy.
"Future Shock" is the twenty-second episode of Godzilla: The Series, and the first episode of season 2.
Plot
The episode begins with H.E.A.T. and Godzilla chasing a Mutant Jellyfish while leaving the sick Mendel Craven at headquarters. Godzilla engages the Jellyfish and a freak storm overtakes their ship. After regaining control, the team notices that Godzilla and the mutation are missing and begin to search for them. Elsie Chapman suggests that Godzilla went home without them, and they head back to headquarters, only to find it in severe disrepair. They search it, but find nothing and decide to go into the city. They find it ruins and Randy Hernandez remarks that someone has "been playing dominoes with the World Trade Center". They are ten attacked by a D.R.A.G.M.A., which they narrowly escape before deciding to head for the shore. AS they explore the deserted city they pass many futuristic cars and discover a movie theater playing Ghostbusters 10 and Elsie suggests that they may be in the future. The D.R.A.G.M.A. returns and they are saved by a boy who leads them to a stronghold in the subway system where they are met with a time-hardened Mendel Craven. He explains that they all disappeared chasing the Mutant Jellyfish, but only Godzilla returned. He reveals that the year they have arrived in is 18 A.D. (After D.R.A.G.M.A.), or 2022. He then reveals that Godzilla dies saving thousands of lives battling the D.R.A.G.M.A.s. In a bit of fan-service, the boy who saved their lives is revealed to be the son of Victor "Animal" Palotti and his wife. The reunited H.E.A.T. then takes on some D.R.A.G.M.A.s, but are forced back inside the base by the sheer numbers. They are then met with Anthony Hicks, now outfitted with a cybernetic arm, whith whom they decide to return to the past through the same storm that brought them here to keep the creator of the D.R.A.G.M.A.s, Dr. Jonathan Insley from creating them in the first place. As they approach the storm they notice a D.R.A.G.M.A. following them, but it is shot down by lightning. they then find themselves back in between Godzilla and the Mutant Jellyfish. Godzilla quickly defeats it and they head back to headquarters where they find Insley's laboratory where he has already created several D.R.A.G.M.A.s, which he releases on the team. They discover that the infant D.R.A.G.M.A.s' exoskeletons aren't fully developed and they take advantage of this by blasting them with the weapons they took from the future before Godzilla comes in and begins to destroy the lab. Dr. Insley and the team exit safely, and Nick assures the doctor that he has saved the world.
