The 155mm Howitzer M1 is an American towed howitzer developed by the United States Army and used by the militaries of numerous other countries, including Japan. It is featured in the 1954 Godzilla film Godzilla and the 1958 Toho film Varan
History

Godzilla (1954)
The 155mm Howitzer M1s, alongside M24 Chaffee Tanks were deployed by the JSDF to take on the defensive perimeter along the cost of Tokyo Bay. Later that night, Godzilla appears from the surface and came to shore where he break through the electrified barrier with 30,00 volts of electricity while the military open fire with no effect on the 50 meter tall prehistoric nuclear monster. It's unknown if any Howitzers were destroyed by Godzilla during his rampage through Tokyo.

The Howitzers appeared again to attack Varan.

Armed with a 155mm cannon capable of firing at a distance of 14,600 meters.
