- Mid-January: SRS Cinema releases The Great Buddha Arrival and Nezura 1964 on VHS and Blu-ray.
- January 20: Legendary Television announces a MonsterVerse TV series, set after the events of Godzilla (2014), which will stream on Apple TV+.
- 4 February: Shochiku and Toei release What to Do with the Dead Kaiju? to Japanese theaters.
- 18 February: A casting call for extras reveals that Takashi Yamazaki will be directing a kaiju film for Toho set in post-war Japan, tentatively titled Blockbuster Monster Movie.
- 26 February: Yusuke Kawazu, who played Hiroshi Omae in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II and Akio Nojiri in Gamera 2 and Gamera 3 among others, passes away at age 86.
- 14 March: Akira Takarada, who starred in Godzilla films from the Showa, Heisei, and Millennium series as well as numerous other Toho tokusatsu productions, passes away at age 87.
- 23 March:IDW Publishing and BOOM! Studios release the first issue of their crossover comic miniseries Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
- 27 March: Tokusatsu writer and director Hirochika Muraishi, who directed numerous episodes of Toho's Cyber Cop, Guyferd, and The Gransazers in addition to episodes of various shows from Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra Series, passes away at the age of 75.
- 30 March: Nobuyuki Yasumaru, who served as Toho's chief modeler on its tokusatsu productions from 1971 to 1991, passes away at age 87.
- 27 April: IDW Publishing and BOOM! Studios publish Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #2; IDW also releases Godzilla Rivals: Vs. King Ghidorah.
- 3 May: Hiroyuki Watanabe, who played Colonel Ono in the Heisei Gamera Trilogy and Commander Yutaka Hirose in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, passes away at age 66.
- 13 May: Toho releases Shin Ultraman to Japanese theaters.
- 25 May: IDW Publishing and BOOM! Studios publish Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #3.
