The first appearance of the AC-3 White Heron was during the first encounter with [[Godzilla/Kiryu Saga|Godzilla]] in Hakkeijima, in which it was used to transport [[Kiryu]] into battle and also was used as a control base, in which the pilot, Akane Yashiro, would be stationed while controlling Kiryu. The AC-3 White Herons were used again to transport Kiryu into Shinagawa to fight Godzilla as he was attacking Tokyo. when Godzilla hit Kiryu with his atomic breath, diverting an Absolute Zero Cannon blast, and launching him onto his body, the power in Tokyo was diverted to one of the AC-3 White Herons which had used the newfound power to recharge Kiryu and eject Akane to pilot Kiryu from the inside.

As Lieutenant Akane Yashiro struggled to regain control, Lieutenant Susumu Hayama attempted to lure Kiryu out to sea with a White Heron, but was promptly shot down by its homing missiles. All aboard narrowly escaped as the plane exploded.
