The first appearance of the AC-3 White Heron was during the first encounter with [[Godzilla/Kiryu Saga|Godzilla]] in Hakkeijima, in which it was used to transport [[Kiryu]] into battle and also was used as a control base, in which the pilot, Akane Yashiro, would be stationed while controlling Kiryu. The AC-3 White Herons were used again to transport Kiryu into Shinagawa to fight Godzilla as he was attacking Tokyo. when Godzilla hit Kiryu with his atomic breath, diverting an Absolute Zero Cannon blast, and launching him onto his body, the power in Tokyo was diverted to one of the AC-3 White Herons which had used the newfound power to recharge Kiryu and eject Akane to pilot Kiryu from the inside.

The AC-3 White Herons were developed alongside [[Kiryu]] as a means to both pilot the mech and transport it. Two of the planes transported it to [[Yokohama]] to confront [[Godzilla/Kiryu Saga|Godzilla]] for the first time. After Godzilla's roar caused the spirit of the first Godzilla within Kiryu's bones to possess the machine and rampage through the city. As Lieutenant [[Akane Yashiro]] struggled to regain control, Lieutenant Susumu Hayama attempted to lure Kiryu out to sea with a White Heron, but was promptly shot down by its homing missiles. All aboard narrowly escaped as the plane exploded.
 
The White Herons intervened several times during Kiryu's second battle with Godzilla in Tokyo. Lieutenant Kenji Sekine opened fire on Godzilla as he was about to fire his atomic breath at a prone Kiryu.

The AC-3 White Heron or Shirasagi (ＡＣ―３ しらさぎ,   Ei Shī Surī Shirasagi, lit. AC-3 Shirasagi) is a support vehicle used by the JSDF which first appeared in the 2002 Godzilla film, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.

The AC-3 White Herons were developed alongside Kiryu as a means to both pilot the mech and transport it. Two of the planes transported it to Yokohama to confront Godzilla for the first time.
