Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | Anchor Bay Entertainment, previously Video Treasures and Starmaker Entertainment, was an American home entertainment company formed in 1995 by the merger of the two aforementioned companies. The company was a subsidiary of Starz Inc., and went defunct in 2017. Following the merger between Starz and Lionsgate in 2016, Anchor Bay was folded under Lionsgate's home entertainment division. It released several Godzilla movies on VHS in the 1980s and 1990s. All of the films were released in English, with the American-recorded dubs used for Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, Son of Godzilla, and Godzilla 1985. Anchor Bay's United Kingdom branch was acquired from Starz along with Manga Entertainment UK by independent managing director Colin Lomax in 2015. Rebranded Platform Entertainment, it was acquired by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution the following year and continues to operate to this day. |
