The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is an American strategic heavy bomber manufactured by Boeing. While never used in Europe, the B-29 became an iconic aircraft of the time due to its wide use in the Pacific Theater of World War II. One B-29, Enola Gay, became famous for being the bomber that dropped the atomic bomb "Little Boy" over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, while another B-29, Bockscar, dropped the atomic bomb "Fat Man" over Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.

Frankenstein vs. Baragon

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay" in Frankenstein vs. Baragon

During the Second World War, an experiment into creating a biological supersoldier was carried out by Doctor Reisendorf in Germany, through experimentation on the immortal heart of Frankenstein's monster. With Allied forces closing in on the country during the final months of the war, Nazi soldiers confiscated Reisendorf's research and the heart. Transporting the materials aboard a U-Boat, the Germans made it as far as the Pacific Ocean before their submarine was struck by an Allied bomb, but not before they managed to transfer the experiment over to an Imperial Japanese Navy warship in the area. Making it back to Hiroshima, the Japanese prepared to continue the experiment, only for the B-29 Enola Gay to drop the "Little Boy" atomic bomb on the city, completely destroying it. Although it was thought that the heart had been destroyed during the destruction of Hiroshima, it turned out that the radiation from the blast had given it remarkable regenerative abilities, and in the following years, it grew into a mysterious child who wandered the rebuilt city's streets.

GODZILLA: The Planet Eater

A single Boeing B-29 Superfortress appears in the vision created by Metphies to bring Haruo Sakaki under his control, with the B-29 in particular being one of the two planes that dropped the nuclear bombs in 1945. As Metphies explains that Godzilla and Ghidorah's attacks on humanity were the fault of the race itself, the human and Exif find themselves inside the cockpit of one of the bombers. The vision is interrupted when Martin Lazzari and Maina pray to Mothra to save Haruo. Immediately afterwards, a gigantic silhouette of Mothra as an adult slams head on into the B-29, causing it to disintegrate midflight and giving Haruo enough awareness to hear Lazzari's calls for help.
