"Brush of the God: An Island with Monsters") is a 2024 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Keizo Murase in his directorial debut and written by Takeshi Nakazawa from a story by Murase, with special effects by Daisuke Sato. Financed through the Brush of the God Production Committee and produced by Murase's company Twenty, the film was crowdfunded through Motion Gallery and Kickstarter beginning in September 2020.[2] It made its world premiere at the Osaka Asian Film Festival in Osaka, Japan on March 2, 2024.[1] A wider Japanese theatrical release will follow in the summer, with plans to also release the film overseas sometime in the future.[3][4] |
