Carl's Jr. is an American fast-food chain founded as a hot-dog cart by Carl Karcher in 1941. It is famous for creating a variety of American dishes in the fast-food format. In 1976, to promote the King Kong remake, the Burger Chef restaurants that were later bought by Carl's Jr. produced four collectible drinking glasses with King Kong designs. In the year 2000, in order order to promote Godzilla: The Series, Carl's Jr. and their adopted brand Hardee's released Godzilla-themed merchandise. Since then, they have associated themselves with the MonsterVerse films Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.


Merchandise

King Kong (1976)

In 1976, the Burger Chef restaurants, later bought by Hardee's, a daughter company of Carl's Jr., produced four drinking glasses with unique King Kong designs printed on them, available with a new design every week with the purchase of a large meal, or for 59¢ with the purchase of a Medium Coca-Cola.

Godzilla: The Series

In 2000, as part of a promotion, Carl's Jr. produced Godzilla toys to be distributed with their kid's meals. They include:

  • A helicopter spinning disc launcher
  • A fire shooting Godzilla
  • A Baby Godzilla with an egg
  • A Heat-Seeker stamper with paper

Godzilla (2014)

In 2014, Carl's Jr. produced a collectible cup with a Godzilla print on it to promote the American Godzilla film that released that year.

Kong: Skull Island

In 2017, Carl's Jr. produced another collectible cup with a Kong print on it to promote Kong: Skull Island, as well as a small merchandise line, consisting of a lanyard, a keychain, and a towel with images pertaining to the film on them, available free with the purchase of a large meal.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

In 2019, to promote Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Carl's Jr. restaurants in Mexico released exclusive cups featuring images of Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah.
