Classic Media was an American entertainment company founded by Eric Ellenbogen and John Engelman in 2000. It has released several Godzilla and other kaiju movies on home video, and owns the rights to The King Kong Show, along with the rest of the pre-1974 Rankin/Bass library. In 2008, it produced a documentary on suitmation titled Bringing Godzilla Down to Size, included as a bonus feature on its DVD set of Rodan and The War of the Gargantuas. The company was acquired by DreamWorks Animation in 2012, under which it now operates as DreamWorks Classics. In 2016, NBCUniversal acquired DreamWorks Animation, including the Classic Media library.

Trivia

  • Classic Media's 2014 DVD release of Godzilla, King of the Monsters! erroneously states that the film came out in 1966 instead of 1956.
