Dayo was kidnapped by the [[Red Bamboo]] and taken to [[Letchi Island]] as a slave to create an [[Ebirah]]-repelling fluid for them. Dayo escapes shortly after arriving on Letchi, and meets the other protagonists. They find shelter in a cave, where they discover the dormant [[Godzilla]]. When the group decides to infiltrate the Red Bamboo's base, Dayo comes along. Inside the base, two of the protagonists are captured, leaving only Dayo, [[Yoshimura]], and one other person free. It is then decided to wake up Godzilla using some copper wire Dayo found in the [[Red Bamboo]] base and an [[Infant Island|Infant Islander]]'s sword as a channel. When Godzilla wakes up, one of the other protagonists named [[Ryota]] and his brother Yata return to Letchi Island to aide the captive Infant Islanders. Dayo (ダヨ) is a protagonist in the 1966 Godzilla film Ebirah, Horror of the Deep.
Name
Dayo's name is sometimes erroneously transliterated as "Daiyo," such as in the English subtitles for Ebirah, Horror of the Deep on The Criterion Collection's Godzilla: The Showa-Era Films, 1954–1975 Blu-ray box set.
