"Godzilla, Ebirah, Mothra: Great Duel in the South Seas") is a 1966 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Jun Fukuda and written by Shinichi Sekizawa, with special effects by Sadamasa Arikawa. Produced by Toho, it is the seventh installment in the Godzilla series as well as the Showa series. It stars Akira Takarada, Kumi Mizuno, Akihiko Hirata, Jun Tazaki, Hideo Sunazaka, Chotaro Togin, Toru Ibuki, and Toru Watanabe. The film was released to Japanese theaters on December 17, 1966.[2] It was the first film in the Godzilla series to not premiere in theaters in the United States. Instead, an edited English-dubbed version titled Godzilla versus the Sea Monster was released directly to American television by the Walter Reade Organization in 1968. |
