This is Colonel Eliott Leland, commander of the Earth Landing Brigade. Everyone, continue your tasks and listen. All 600 gathered here are the chosen elite forces who have decided to give their lives to fight against Godzilla. Everyone correctly understands that there will be no constructive outlook if you're trapped in an old society. Instead of a fake promised land, we will take back our homeland, and promise prosperity to the next generation. For the sake of humanity's future, I look forward to everyone's efforts.

Eliott Leland (エリオット・リーランド,   Eriotto Rīrando) is a colonel aboard the emigrant spaceship Aratrum who first appeared in the 2017 Godzilla film, GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters.

GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters

Eliott Leland was placed in command of the operation to reclaim the Earth from Godzilla by the Central Committee of the Aratrum. Leland saw this mission as an opportunity to prove his worth and the ineffectiveness of the Central Committee, allowing for real change in political control among the United Earth. Leland descended to the planet's surface aboard a Landing Ship along with Colonel Metphies, Major Rilu-elu Belu-be, Major Martin Lazzari, Sergeant Yuko Tani, and the handcuffed Captain Haruo Sakaki, who was still released on parole. When the ship touched down in the former Tanzawa Forest area, Martin asked Leland for permission to lead a small expedition into the forest and study the environment. Leland granted Martin a small contingent of soldiers, which included Haruo. Leland told Yuko to keep watch over Haruo, since he was still on parole. While the party was away, Leland's company was attacked by a flock of vicious winged creatures called Servum, which killed several soldiers and badly damaged most of the company's vehicles and equipment. Martin analyzed the carcass of a Servum and determined that it was a new species that had developed from Godzilla's biology, as was the bizarre new plant life in the forst, Leland decided to call off the mission and return to the Aratrum, as he argued that the environment was now completely hostile to humanity and that they stood no chance against Godzilla here. Haruo was furious at Leland's suggestion, and angrily pinned the colonel against a wall, saying that the planet Leland was so eager to abandon was humanity's home. Leland suggested that they could establish a colony on the moon and extract resources from the Earth. Leland said that he underestimated the situation and now his eyes were opened, and threw Haruo off of him. Metphies said he agreed with Leland's plan to retreat, but unfortunately their Landing Ship fleet was crippled by the Servum attack and they had no way to return to the Aratrum. Leland decided to route the remaining forces through the Tanzawa Pass, the projected area of engagement with Godzilla, and regroup with the other companies before retreating to the Aratrum with them.

Leland rode inside of a Multipodal Battery while Haruo and the others rode in one of the damaged Landing Ships. As the company was moving through the Pass, Godzilla suddenly appeared over the horizon and began approaching them. Leland gave the order to prepare for battle and evade quickly, but the Landing Ship began to lose altitude and showed a risk of exploding. The crew managed to escape the ship once it crashed just before it exploded, while Haruo jettisoned from it in a Hover Bike and began to fire at Godzilla, trying to force him to deploy his Asymmetrically Permeable Shield. As Haruo attempted to fly headfirst into Godzilla, Leland took command of the Multipodal Battery and opened fire on Godzilla. Haruo pulled away from the monster, which turned its attention to Leland. Leland simply said "This planet can go to hell" as Godzilla obliterated the Multipodal Battery with his atomic breath, killing Leland. Colonel Leland's sacrifice would not be in vain, however, as Mulu-elu Galu-gu and Martin were able to determine the location of Godzilla's EMP organ by analyzing him as he fired his atomic breath. With Leland dead, command of the operation fell to Metphies, who then designated his authority to Haruo.

GODZILLA: The Planet Eater

Leland appeared to Haruo in a hallucination triggered telepathically by Metphies, urging him to give in and succumb to Ghidorah.
