The Giant Armadillo was a mutation caused by nuclear testing at Area 51 in the 1950's. It burrowed out of its enclosure and began to run amok inside the walls of Area 51 and was mistaken for an alien spacecraft by two trespassers. This encounter made it onto TV, and attracted the attention of [[H.E.A.T.]], who came to help the military with its mutation problem. It proved a challenge for them, as it destroyed their jeep and began to charge after them.
