| The Giant Crab was among several marine animals enlarged to giant size, thanks to recent volcanic eruptions and a mysterious underground substance emerging from Capaldi Island; a relatively young formation which itself was created by the aforementioned geological activity. The Giant Crab played a vital role in preventing the calico crew to uncover the origin of the Macro-Beasts. The Giant Crab was able to disable the mini sub's radio and attempted to drag both Dr. Quinn and Brock into its cave. Luckily, Brock manages to rescue them both by overheating the mini sub's engine and thus burning the Giant Crab's claw into letting them go, allowing them to escape and return to the Calico.
