Godzilla: Aftershock (ゴジラ:アフターショック,   Gojira: Afutāshokku) is an upcoming prequel graphic novel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters set to be published by Legendary Comics on May 21, 2019,[1] and by Village Books on May 24 in Japan.[2] However, many Barnes & Noble stores began selling it in early May. The third official graphic novel tie-in for the MonsterVerse, it is written by Arvid Nelson, the writer of Skull Island: The Birth of Kong, and illustrated by Drew Johnson. It features a battle between Godzilla and a new monster called MUTO Prime, a Titan which is the mother of the two MUTOs from the 2014 film.[3] The Japanese release of Godzilla: Aftershock is translated by Shiori Miyo.
