GODZILLA: Mobile Battle Proliferation City) is an upcoming anime science fiction kaiju film produced by Toho Animation and animated by Polygon Pictures, and the second entry in a trilogy of animated Godzilla films. It will be released to Japanese theaters on May 18, 2018.[1]

Description

"Early in the 21st century, the human race abandoned many human lives on Earth at the mercy of Godzilla, bound for the "promised land" of Tau Ceti-e aboard the interstellar emigration ship Aratrum, which contained only a selected few passengers. However, the plan failed and mankind returned to Earth again. The space-time distortion caused by long-distance subspace navigation caused the humans to return to the Earth after 20,000 years. On the planet, the protagonist Haruo, who was attacked by Godzilla, succeeded in defeating Godzilla in a battle to the death by executing the "Anti-Godzilla Plan," with the assistance of the Exif and Bilusaludo, two alien races.

But while the victors celebrated, the true Godzilla "Godzilla Earth" appeared from deep underground. Haruo was separated from his allies by the overwhelming destructive power of the super-gigantic Godzilla that had evolved into a 300 meter-tall figure, weighing 100,000 metric tons, after continuing to live and grow for 20,000 years.

And it was Miana, a member of the Futsua race that may be the surviving descendants of mankind, that saved Haruo. The Futsua are the first humanoid race to be encountered on Earth since the humans returned. Are they the descendants of humanity? They tell Haruo that "the Futsua god has been also been destroyed by Godzilla, leaving behind only eggs. It challenged the creature and was swallowed by fire." Haruo responds that "this is our last chance to reclaim the Earth for mankind.

Meanwhile, the Bilusaludo commander Galu-Gu notices that the arrowheads used by the Futsua are made of "autonomous thinking metal," or "Nanometal." It is the same substance used to construct "Mechagodzilla," the "Anti-Godzilla Battle Weapon" constructed at the foot of Mount Fuji in the 21st century, which was destroyed prior to being activated. The website later promised that the film would feature a battle between Godzilla Earth, the gigantic 300 meter Godzilla seen at the end of the previous film, and Mechagodzilla.[2][1]
