Template:Infobox IDW Godzilla: Rage Across Time #5 is the fifth and final issue of Godzilla: Rage Across Time. It was released on November 23, 2016.

Description

"Travel back to the age of dinosaurs to discover the secret origins of the monsters! The mysterious circumstances behind their arrival may spell doom for mankind in the present! The shocking conclusion to the most epic Godzilla storyline yet!"

Plot

While at a Northern Israeli dig site in 2016, Benjamin Thompson and Nikki Kasumi discover Homo erectus and Velociraptor remains on the same ridge, which should have been impossible.

In the late Cretaceous period, kaiju run rampant. Ebirah and Gezora battle in the ocean, while Rodan eats a Tyrannosaurus rex before being shot down by a stray beam fired by Godzilla during a fight with Anguirus, Varan and Baragon. Kumonga prepares to eat Rodan's remains while Mothra and Battra battle in the sky. This continues until Keizer Ghidorah falls from the sky in a meteor shower. Keizer Ghidorah defeats all the monsters, but is nearly defeated by Godzilla, whom he tips over into a volcano. After that victory, a fleet of Xilien UFOs arrive on Earth. One of the Xiliens from inside a ship lands and set free two Homo erectus, which he gives an axe to build and fight with, and a fruit to plant. He then informs them that when the planet is ready they will be back to harvest it, but as soon as he leaves, Godzilla emerges from the ground, incinerating both Homo erectus and a nearby Velociraptor with lava from underground.
