History

Millennium era

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack

Isayama was sighted by Yuri Tachibana at Mount Myoko while she was attempting to film a documentary for her company about a monster said to live there. Isayama later watched that night as a gang of motorcyclists destroyed an ancient statue while they went on a joyride through the area, only to be killed when the monster Baragon when he burrowed into a tunnel through which they were driving. Isayama was later apprehended by local police and detained at a police station after being caught destroying ancient shrines. Yuri visited Isayama at the station to interview him. He warned her that Godzilla would soon arrive in Japan to seek vengeance against the nation for the lives lost during the battles of the Pacific War. He explained that Godzilla was inhabited by the restless souls of all those killed during the war, and would come to destroy Japan as retribution for the nation choosing to ignore its responsibility for those lives lost. He told Yuri that together, the three Guardian Monsters may be able to stop Godzilla, as military might was useless against the creature. He told her to go to the place where the great Ghidorah was sleeping so that he may be awakened.

When Baragon emerged from underground to challenge Godzilla, he freed Isayama from his cell, and the mysterious old man disappeared. He later reappeared in the Aokigahara at the resting place of Ghidorah, where he toppled yet another ancient statue in order to awaken the beast. After Godzilla had finally been defeated by a combination of the Guardian Monsters' and JSDF's efforts, it was discovered by Yuri's colleagues that Isayama had actually died in the first Godzilla's rampage in 1954, and had already been 75 at the time. Furthermore, he had completely vanished from Yuri's interview tape.
