| In 2014, James gave his immediate thoughts on [[Legendary Pictures]]' [[Godzilla (2014 film)|2014 American Godzilla film]], and although he enjoyed the movie, claiming that he actually saw a Godzilla movie, he complained that there wasn't enough [[Godzilla]] in it and that the design of the [[MUTO]]s "weren't original" and "felt a little too cliché." However, he also expressed his wish that this movie was released earlier rather than the [[Godzilla (1998 film)|1998 film]]. In his re-review of the 2014 film in 2016, he pointed out some more flaws he found with it. Also in 2016, Rolfe gave his thoughts on the trailer for [[Toho]]'s then-upcoming new Godzilla film ''[[Shin Godzilla]]'', expressing his excitement for the first Japanese Godzilla film since 2004. Rolfe later reviewed the film alongside fellow Godzilla fan Mike Matei after attending an early screening, stating that he found it to be a flawed, but overall very satisfying and refreshing entry in the series.
