The "Ghidorah" {{Nihongo|ギドラ|Gidora}} part of King Ghidorah's name comes from the Japanese word for "hydra" {{Nihongo|ヒドラ|Hidora}}, which shares two of its three katakana characters with "Ghidorah." The addition of "King" {{Nihongo|キング}} to his name may have been influenced by King Dragon {{Nihongo|キング・ドラゴン|Kingu Doragon}}, the name given to [[Wikipedia:Zmei (Russian|Zmey Gorynych]], upon which King Ghidorah's design was based, in the Japanese version of the Soviet film ''[[wikipedia:Ilya Muromets (film)|Ilya Muromets]]''.

Ghidorah became entangled in Moshu Moshu's silk, allowing Godzilla-kun to grab him by the tails and hurl him over a cliff. Godzilla-kun threw another boulder at King Ghidorah, prompting him to fly away and retreat.

King Ghidorah (キングギドラ,   Kingu Gidora) is a three-headed dragon kaiju who appears in the 2019 web series Godziban, specifically its Go! Go! Godzilla-kun segments.

The combined form of the evil Three Dorat Brothers, King Ghidorah has done battle with many of Earth's monsters. The Dorats first attained this form to battle Grandpa Zilla over Moshu-Moshu's egg, then again to fight Godzilla-kun and his monster allies. Most recently, the Three Dorat Brothers combined into King Ghidorah to steal Rodan's fruit, though the three-headed monster was repelled by the combined efforts of Godzilla-kun, Rodan, and Moshu-Moshu.

Name

The "Ghidorah" (ギドラ,   Gidora) part of King Ghidorah's name comes from the Japanese word for "hydra" (ヒドラ,   Hidora), which shares two of its three katakana characters with "Ghidorah." It also, coincidentally or not, sounds very similar to the Russian pronunciation of "hydra" (Гидра, ˈɡʲidrə).

Design

The King Ghidorah in Godziban is modeled after the Heisei incarnation of the character, and looks more or less identical to it. The biggest visible difference between the Godziban and Heisei King Ghidorahs is that the Godziban incarnation's tongues are not forked.

Personality

Like the Three Dorat Brothers who comprise him, King Ghidorah is a hostile and evil creature who seeks to devour anything he comes across, be it a monster egg or a basket of fruit. Upon combining into King Ghidorah, the Dorats will attack any monster who stands in their way, even when outnumbered.

Origins

King Ghidorah is a form that the Three Dorat Brothers can attain by combining with each other. They often transform into King Ghidorah when opposed by a monster of sufficient strength or by multiple monsters that they cannot defeat in their base form.

"Godzilla Fest 2019 digest movie"

When Minilla and Little went to investigate an egg that a strange medallion had led them to, the Three Dorat Brothers appeared and expressed their intention to eat it. Grandpa Zilla arrived to fight the three brothers, who combined into King Ghidorah. Grandpa Zilla then grew to gigantic size so as to fight Ghidorah on equal footing. Using his atomic breath, Grandpa Zilla triumphed over Ghidorah, who abandoned the egg to the Godzillas. The egg then hatched into Moshu-Moshu.

"Fly! Toward the Future"

When the Three Dorat Brothers harassed Minilla as he taught Radon how to fly, Radon took flight and rammed into them, scattering them. Enraged, the Dorats combined into King Ghidorah and attacked both monsters with their gravity beams. Godzilla-kun arrived to defend his brother and attacked King Ghidorah. As the two monsters battled, all of Godzilla-kun's monster allies assembled on the battlefield. Godzilla-kun and his allies then all charged at Ghidorah together, with Ghidorah flying directly at them.

"Three Giant Monsters: The Hungriest One on Earth"

When the Three Dorat Brothers saw Rodan carrying a basket of fruit, they confronted him and tried to claim it for themselves. Godzilla-kun and Moshu-Moshu arrived as well, so the Dorats combined once more into King Ghidorah to fight the three. Rodan took flight, with Ghidorah in pursuit. Rodan turned quickly in the air and rammed Ghidorah out of the sky, only to land on his back while Ghidorah got back to his feet and prepared to attack. Rodan hid behind a rock while Ghidorah unleashed a hail of gravity beams at him. Godzilla-kun helped Moshu-Moshu up a slope and the two entered the battle as well. Godzilla-kun pelted Ghidorah with boulders while Moshu-Moshu bit one of his tails. Ghidorah retaliated by firing his gravity beams at Godzilla-kun's crotch. Moshu-Moshu began spitting her silk at Ghidorah, then climbed onto Rodan's back as he took flight, granting her a better angle to continue spraying her silk. Ghidorah became entangled in Moshu-Moshu's silk, allowing Godzilla-kun to grab him by the tails and hurl him over a cliff. Godzilla-kun threw another boulder at King Ghidorah, prompting him to fly away and retreat.

Roar

In Godziban, King Ghidorah utilizes a combination of his Showa and Heisei roars, similar in style to his Millennium roar. Unlike the other monsters in the show, King Ghidorah does not usually talk but most frequently roars. However, when he does talk, he has the voices of the Three Dorat Brothers.
