King Kong is a Mexican comic series published by Editorial Orizaba which ran for 185 issues from 1965 to 1969. Written by Guilermo Padilla and featuring art by J. Amaro and Pedro Cabrales, the series was partially reprinted in 1972 by Ediciones Joma and again by Ediciones Mexico and Ediciones Nama between 1977 and 1980, for which it was known under the title The Gorilla (El Gorila) for its first 15 issues before being changed to The Gorilla of the Jungle (El Gorila de la Selva) for the remainder of its run. It is notable for being one of the first comic book adaptations of the King Kong character and is the longest to date.
