Sker Buffalo		Kong: Skull Island	Main article: Sker Buffalo. A species of giant bovines known as Sker Buffaloes call Skull Island home. They are one of the few Skull Island creatures that are not inherently hostile to humans.
Mire Squid			Main article: Mire Squid. A species of cephalopod inhabited the waterways of Skull Island, and was big enough to challenge even Kong himself.
Spore Mantis			Main article: Spore Mantis. The Spore Mantis is a species of giant insect that evolved to resemble logs on the forest floor.
Triceratops			Main article: Triceratops. A Triceratops skull rested in the Valley of the Fallen Gods on Skull Island. It is unknown if living Triceratops dwell elsewhere on the island.
Giant ants			Hank Marlow pointed out to Houston Brooks and Lin San that the bird-like calls coming from the jungle were actually produced by gigantic ants that lived in the trees, though the insects were not seen.

Leviathan		Godzilla: King of the Monsters	Leviathan is named after a sea monster from the Hebrew Bible. History Residing at Outpost 49 in Loch Ness, Scotland, Leviathan was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. While this screen appears in the finished film, the Titan's name is impossible to read.
Baphomet			Baphomet is named after a demon that King Philip IV of France accused the Knights Templar of worshiping in 1307. History Residing at Outpost 68 in Volubilis, Morocco, Baphomet was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. However, a monitor in the scene where Monarch discusses Alan Jonah's plans for Mothra still shows its original location.
Sekhmet			Sekhmet is named after the goddess of war and healing from Egyptian mythology. Director Michael Dougherty described her as resembling "a sphinx or lioness." History Residing at Outpost 65 in Cairo, Egypt, Sekhmet was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. She was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. Mokele-Mbembe			Mokele-Mbembe is named after a sauropod-like cryptid said to live in the Congo River region of Central Africa. Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization describes it as having a "massive, snake-like tail," "four thick legs," a curved horn on its head "pulsing with a very faint green light," a head that looks "something like an earless elephant, except that its tusks turned down, rather than up," and a mouth that "open[s] like a crocodile's, revealing thousands of teeth." History Residing at Outpost 75 in Jebel Barkal, Sudan, Mokele-Mbembe was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. Abilities In the novelization, it used its trunk and tail as weapons when battling Monarch and the Egyptian army, while unfazed by tanks, fighter jets, and high-tension lines. Trivia Mokele-Mbembe is referred to as Mokele for short, and also by the nickname M&M in the Godzilla: King of the Monsters novelization.
Yamata no Orochi			Yamata no Orochi is named after the eight-headed dragon of Japanese mythology. History Residing at Outpost 91 at Mount Fuji in Japan, Yamata no Orochi was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park.
Typhon			Typhon is named after the "father of monsters" from Greek mythology. The mythical Typhon's children include Scylla, also the namesake of a Titan. History Residing at Outpost 92 in Angkor Wat, Cambodia, Typhon was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. Bunyip			Bunyip is named after a swamp monster from Australian Aboriginal mythology. History Residing at Outpost 99, beneath Ayers Rock in Australia, Bunyip was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. Abaddon			Abaddon is named after the "angel of the bottomless pit" who leads an army of demonic locusts in the Christian Bible's Book of Revelation. History Residing at Outpost 77, beneath Devils Tower in the U.S. state of Wyoming, Abaddon was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park. Quetzalcoatl			Quetzalcoatl is named after the Mesoamerican feathered serpent god. History Residing at Outpost 57 in Machu Picchu, Peru, Quetzalcoatl was one of the many Titans who began to attack humanity under the direction of King Ghidorah. It was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the ORCA at Fenway Park.
Giant spider			History While fending off attacking Monarch soldiers in the Temple of the Moth in China, an enraged Mothra picked one of the men up with her mandibles and tossed him into a huge spider web. There, a giant spider could be glimpsed awaiting its next meal.
Anguirus-like skeleton "A creature that might or might not be Anguirus"			History Just outside of Godzilla's underwater lair laid the skeletal remains of a giant spiked quadrupedal monster. It was destroyed, along with the rest of the submerged temple, following the detonation of the nuclear device which revived Godzilla. Gallery A view of the skeleton, untextured, from the home video bonus feature "The Undersea Lair" Trivia Mike Dougherty tweeted about this Easter egg a little over a week after the film came out in theaters, saying: "The skeleton of a creature that might or might not be Anguirus is briefly visible in one shot, just outside Godzilla’s underwater lair."

Skeleton of a dead creature			History Shortly after entering the ancient stone temple of his ancestors in the Hollow Earth, Kong found a gigantic axe embedded in the skull of an unknown monster. He pulled out the axe from the skeleton and wielded it, beating his chest and roaring triumphantly.

Monarch museum creatures			Many creatures or their remains were on display in the museum inside Monarch Unit's headquarters in the 1940s: A gigantic black ape resembling a gorilla. A giant carnivorous plant. A giant shrimp (in a flashback to the Permian Period, Shinomura was seen feeding from what looked like the shell of the same kind of giant shrimp before being attacked by Godzilla). Psychovulture			Main article: Psychovulture. Vultura Insanus are psychopathic flying reptiles with the uncanny ability to shoot lightning from their mouths.
Sirenjaw			Main article: Sirenjaw. Gigantus Crocodiliad are large reptilian monsters somewhat resembling a crocodile. They camouflage themselves to look like an island in order to ambush and catch prey.
Magma Turtle			Main article: Magma Turtle. Tortisa Vuklana is a species of gargantuan turtle that lays its eggs in volcanoes. When the eggs hatch, the magma hardens into the baby turtles' shells.
Death Jackal			Main article: Death Jackal. Spinae Mortem is a species of large and vicious carnivorous canine that hunts in packs on Skull Island.
Swamp Locust			Main article: Swamp Locust. The Swamp Locust is a species of enormous aquatic insect that hunts by submerging its body before entrapping its prey with its long legs.

Giant lemurs		Godzilla Dominion	Godzilla recalled encountering two giant lemurs in Earth's distant past. The giant lemurs are large Lemuridae-like monsters that resemble ring-tailed lemurs with large spikes running down their backs. They also have scorpion-like stingers at the end of their tails.
Murderfish			When Dr. Ishiro Serizawa destroyed Godzilla's temple with a nuclear weapon to revive the monster, he also opened up a passage to the Hollow Earth. When Godzilla visited the temple's ruins, a swarm of aquatic creatures hailing from those depths surrounded him, acting as one. He roasted dozens with his atomic breath, but countless more arrived, culminating in the creatures' leader—their "genitor"—attacking him. After he easily killed it by tearing out its spine, its connection with the swarm was severed, and they descended to feed on its carcass. Godzilla promptly incinerated them all. The creatures are large fish monsters that resemble prehistoric fish, but with blue bodies. Instead of teeth, they have two pairs of sharp bony plates that form a beak-like structure, and they have white eyes.
Murderfish genitor			This Hollow Earth predator took Godzilla by surprise, sinking its teeth into his neck, but he easily tore its spine out, killing it. With the genitor's connection to its swarm severed, they descended to feed on its carcass. Godzilla promptly incinerated them all. The creatures' genitor is a large fish monster that resembles a Dunkleosteus, but with a rough blue body, pectoral fins that possess red undersides with three fingers, a dorsal fin that is made up of red ribbon-like flesh, and pelvic fins that are long and thin and also have the same red ribbon-like flesh. Its eyes are red, instead of teeth it has two pairs of sharp bony plates that form a beak-like structure, and it has a tail fin that also has the same red ribbon-like flesh surrounding it. Trivia Greg Keyes' script for Godzilla Dominion did not name the genitor or its swarm. Illustrator Drew Johnson took to calling them "Murderfish," a name which was jokingly suggested by his editor. According to Keyes, the monsters do not have any official name, and the word "genitor" is used as a generic term to describe the creatures' leader, similar to the queen of a beehive.
Various dead monsters			Before his battle with Tiamat, Godzilla swims past the remains of several dead monsters. Trivia Godzilla Dominion illustrator Drew Johnson included the head of the MUTO Prime's original design in the lower left-hand corner of this panel, while the multi-headed monster below Godzilla was his first concept for Amhuluk. Godzilla Dominion writer Greg Keyes has stated that the idea behind the beetle-like creature, seen as Godzilla swims past the dead monsters, was to "suggest that it might be one of the classic [kaiju] without committing to it."

Hell swarm			The Hell swarm are large bat monsters with rough brown skin, fur on the back of their necks, small heads with sharp teeth, spikes running down their backs, large, somewhat shredded wings that possess orange membranes, small eyes that appear to be the same color as their bodies, and long spiky tails.

Giant snake		Kong: Skull Island - The Official Movie Novelization	After Kong attacked the helicopters escorting the 1973 Landsat expedition to Skull Island and downed the entire group, ex-Special Air Service tracker James Conrad attempted to get to high ground in order to get a better look at the surrounding topography. While climbing, he touched what looked like a vine, but turned out to be a 60-foot-long snake which tried to eat him. The giant serpent possessed a head as large as that of a full-grown human's, and fangs the length of a man's finger. Though it nearly constricted him to death, Conrad was able to kill it by stabbing it in the head with a knife.
Giant wasp			During their expedition through the island, Conrad's party encountered a carnivorous plant with several dead animals inside its maw, including a wasp the size of Weaver's hand.
Carnivorous plant			After Kong downed all of the choppers carrying the members of the Landsat and Monarch expedition to Skull Island, James Conrad's party encountered a carnivorous plant with several dead animals inside, including "a wasp the size of Weaver’s hand." The carnivorous plant's digestive juices were said to be extremely acidic.
Iwi painting creatures			The creatures Kong defends Skull Island from are more diverse than just the Skullcrawlers. The Iwi paintings depict "giant reptilian beasts, one with three heads. A crocodile fifty feet long. Snake-like monsters, slinking from holes in the ground and snapping towards the sun. Web-footed creatures, spikes along their backs spearing bloodied human shapes, diving into the ocean surrounding the island."
Squid-like creature			A squid-like creature attacked the Grey Fox, trying to drag Warrant Officer Reg Slivko into the water. Hank Marlow threw the boat into reverse and injured it with the propeller, but it soon returned, attacking Slivko again. Lin San freed him with Marlow's katana. Once the creature had enough purchase on the boat, it raised itself out of the water, only for James Conrad to shoot out one of its eyes. After San cut off another tentacle, it retreated. The creature's tentacles are described as "a dozen feet long with fine webbed fins and elongated heads ending with small, suckered mouths." They lack suckers, and are instead "heavily ridged with muscle." Trivia Prior to being cut from Kong: Skull Island, the Swamp Locust appeared to have a similar role as the squid-like creature.
Margygr		Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization	Monarch discovered Margygr dead in the Arctic, killed by another Titan. They transported her corpse to their underwater base, Castle Bravo, for further study. Trivia Unused concept art matching Margygr's description in the novelization is included in The Art of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, indicating that she was cut from the movie. She thus joins Megalon and Bagan as one of the only monsters to be rejected for a Godzilla film, then turn up in other official media. Margygr is named after a type of mermaid described in the Norwegian educational text The King's Mirror, written around 1250.

Fern bird		Kong and Me	A green bird with a tail like a fern blends in with the folliage as Jia and Kong replant a tree. It was originally designed by Stephanie Levallois for Kong: Skull Island. Gallery Fern bird concept art by Stephanie Levaillois

Rokmutul		Godzilla (2014)	Main article: Rokmutul. Rokmutul is an armored six-legged kaiju with a streamlined crocodilian body, and spikes on its tail most closely resembling those of a Stegosaurus. Based on this concept art found in Godzilla: The Art of Destruction, the beast would have fought Godzilla in San Francisco, with one encounter showing them fighting in the heart of the city and the other atop Alcatraz. Its relation to the other unused monster designed by Josh Nizzi, Pterodactyl, is unknown. Rokmutul would end up being replaced with the female MUTO as one of Godzilla's opponents in the finished film.
Pterodactyl			Main article: Pterodactyl. Pterodactyl is a four-winged pterosaur-like kaiju featured in only one piece of concept art found in Godzilla: The Art of Destruction. While it is known that it would have also fought Godzilla alongside Rokmutul in early development, its relation with the other monster was not explained. In the finished film, the male MUTO would replace the monster, who has wings as well.
A strange, dead monster			Main article: A strange, dead monster. A strange, dead monster appears in the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con teaser trailer for the film. The creature possesses six visible legs, with a long, apparently segmented body with ridges on its back, somewhat resembling a tardigrade; its feet have four long fingers each. Its identity is unknown, but it was solely shown to confirm that Godzilla would be fighting another kaiju.
Vinestrangler		Kong: Skull Island	Main article: Vinestrangler. The Vinestrangler is a slender insect that uses dozens of tentacles to drag prey into its massive maw. A profile on it can be found in the Kong: Skull Island bonus feature Skull Island: Archives.
Big fish			Concept art by Stephanie Levallois features the shadow of a gigantic fish with six pectoral fins passing beneath Marlow's boat.
Heaps of roots			Concept art by Stephanie Levallois features "huge heaps of roots" moving past some soldiers in low water.
