The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is an American family of single-seat multirole fighter aircraft with VTOL capabilities. The F-35 has been exported to a number of countries, including Britain and Japan, and it first appeared in the 2014 MonsterVerse film, Godzilla, as part of the US Navy, and later in the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters as part of Monarch's inventory.
