The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is an American family of single-seat multirole fighter aircraft with VTOL capabilities. The F-35 has been exported to a number of countries, including Britain and Japan, and it first appears in the 2019 MonsterVerse film Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

After Rodan broke free of his containment at Isla de Mara, A group of Monarch F-35s codenamed Gold Squadron was launched from the USS Argo in an attempt to distract him and lure him away from attacking citizens still evacuating the island's city. A squadron of U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornets assisted the F-35s in attacking Rodan, but as Rodan began to pursue the Argo, he proceeded to use his abilities to destroy all the jets as he gave chase, including the entirety of Gold Squadron.

Additional F-35s took part in the final battle between the titans in Boston.
