Magic: The Gathering, often shortened to just Magic, is a collectible card game created by Richard Garfield and published by Wizards of the Coast in 1993. The first of its kind, its popularity has only grown, with an estimated 35 million players worldwide in 2018.[1] On April 2, 2020, Wizards of the Coast announced that their upcoming Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths set would feature characters from the Godzilla series. All are special versions of regular cards, whose names are printed beneath each kaiju's name. The English set will include 16 Godzilla cards, with an additional three in the Japanese set.[2]

Trivia

  • The initial printing of SpaceGodzilla will be called "Spacegodzilla, Death Corona," referencing his signature Corona Beam attack. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wizards of the Coast announced that future printings will be called "Spacegodzilla, Void Invader" instead.[3]
