Makoto Kamiya (神谷 誠,   Kamiya Makoto) is a Japanese special effects director, visual effects supervisor, and director. His career in kaiju eiga began in 1989, when he served as an assistant special effects director for Godzilla vs. Biollante under Koichi Kawakita. After performing the same role on the Heisei Gamera trilogy directed by Shusuke Kaneko, Kaneko recruited him as director of special effects for Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Kamiya remains active in the Japanese film industry, having directed the CG animated movies Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation, and acting as the visual effects supervisor for many of Shinsuke Sato's films.
