History

Ready Player One

Mechagodzilla was a powerful summonable robot in the OASIS, a popular virtual reality game in 2045. It was deployed in the final battle between the forces of Innovative Online Industries (IOI) and the game's other players for control of the OASIS. As Mechagodzilla, piloted by IOI's CEO Nolan Sorrento, charged into battle, Aech who was piloting the Iron Giant proceeded to fire at Mechagodzilla who in return knocked him down. He continued his assault by using his atomic breath. As Art3mis and Perzival proceeded to race to Doom Castle, Mechagodzilla slashed his DeLorean with its tail and proceeded to chase the two. Daito then used the Gregarious 120 and transformed into the RX-78-2 Gundam, who managed to save both of them from getting crushed underfoot. Daito then knocked down Mechagodzilla, causing it to accidentally crush some of IOI's men. As the two mechs fought, Mechagodzilla bit down on Daito’s shield and threw him off a cliff, though the Gundam barely caught the edge with its beam saber. With only ten seconds left, Daito made a desperate unsuccessful attempt to destroy Mechagodzilla by cutting it in half. After Mechagodzilla destroyed Daito's avatar, it chased Parzival and Shoto who were heading straight for the castle. Mechagodzilla then prepared to fire its finger missiles at them until Aech recovered and restrained it. Aech then lifted Art3mis up to Nolan's cockpit within Mechagodzilla's eye, and she threw a Madball grenade into it, temporarily killing Nolan’s avatar and destroying Mechagodzilla.
