Godzilla Color Special

Ookii'Mune was the spiritual leader of Kiryoku-shima, an island south of Japan which had rejected modern technology for a medieval lifestyle after World War II. One night, during a fierce storm, Ookii'Mune was summoned to the town meeting hall, where Kogenta, a writer who had been researching Kiryoku-shima's culture, and his recently arrived friend from G-Force informed the islanders that Godzilla was heading for their island and encouraged them to evacuate. Ookii'Mune sided with her people and refused to leave, as she knew that Gekido-jin would protect them. As Godzilla approached, Ookii'Mune lead the villagers to the sacred shrine of Gekido-jin, which was typically forbidden to visitors, but she made an exception in the dire situation. She explained that the statue was inhabited by an evil Oni who had tormented the island generations ago, and the spirit of a monk who had sacrificed himself to battle the Oni inside the statue for eternity to keep the statue dormant. Ookii'Mune had resolved to sacrifice herself to relieve the monk and allow the Oni to control Gekido-jin long enough to fight off Godzilla, but before she could complete her task, she was knocked unconscious by flying rocks kicked up by Godzilla. Kogenta then took up the task, having been moved by Ookii'Mune's faith in Gekido-jin, and while praying did not hear G-Force shouting for him to get out of the way. He and the statue of Gekido-jin were flattened by Godzilla. Ookii'Mune then noticed Gekido-jin rising from the rubble, but he was continually destroyed again. Ookii'Mune and G-Force then worked together to buy Gekido-jin time to reconstruct himself by using her staff as a lightning rod to electrocute Godzilla with a biopsy dart connected to the staff with a cable. Gekido-jin then re-forms and attacks before backing toward a cliff and being tackled off of it. Ookii'Mune and G-Force then pay their respects to Kogenta for getting Godzilla off the island, and taking up the Monk's battle, as Gekido-jin rested at the ocean floor.
