Template:Kaiju Infobox Unmade Pterodactyl is an unused winged kaiju from the 2014 Legendary Pictures Godzilla film, Godzilla.

Development

Pterodactyl concept art was submitted by Josh Nizzi early into the development of Godzilla.[1] Its relation to the other unused monster designed by Josh Nizzi for the film, Rokmutul, is unknown. Godzilla's opponents in the finished film ended up being the MUTOs, one of which happened to possess wings.

Trivia

  • Pterodactyl could have been loosely based on Rodan, being a winged pterosaur-like reptile, just as Rokmutul shares some physical similarities with Anguirus.
