Raiga: God of the Monsters (深海獣雷牙,   Shinkaijū Raiga) is a 2009 kaiju tokusatsu film, directed by Shinpei Hayashiya and produced by Hisako Iwai and Hajime Okano. This is a sequel to 2005 film, Reigo: King of the Sea Monsters.

Plot

At the beginning of the film, Raiga fights a giant bone fish in the sea, and wins. He roars, and many lightning shine. Later , in the sea, fishermen say that lately they can not catch any fish. Few bone pisces jump out of the water and attack fishermen.

In the morning, an unlicensed street seller Edo Hajime walks around the city with his three daughters. He tells them about their late mother and says that he always remembers her, but they don't believe him. In the evening, he and his three friends talk about an attack on the boat. Also they discuss who will be the treasurer at the festival this year. Friends choose Hajime as treasurer, because he was good treasurer in the previous year. Later, drunken Hajime and friends return home, but suddenly notice lightning striking the store. After this they run away. Meanwhile the professor considers the bone fish he found. He think that fish is dead but it attacks him.

Later, Hajime's daughters spot him with another woman and quarrel with him. Politicians discuss about the explosion on a boat near the beach. One of them says that it is possible that a giant animal attacked the boat. He says that this animal must be 50 meters long. Meanwhile, Raiga gets out of the water. The general comes to the politicians and tells them that Raiga is in the city now. They decide to attack monster immediately. Military planes attack Raiga. Raiga destroys many buildings. He destroys planes and tanks with lightning that he can control. During a long battle, the military manages to wound Raiga, who retreats into the sea.

Two months have passed. Hajime sells T-shirts with the images of Raiga and earns a lot of money. In the evening he and his daughters eat in a cafe. One of Hajime's daughters, Matsuri, tells him that she wants to work in show business. He laughs at her but later says it's possible. Meanwhile bone pisces attack people on the beach. The police notice the blood but bone pisces attack them to. Meanwhile, friends of stand-up comedian tell him about attack on the beach. They tell him about bone pisces, and he says that his father worked on the battleship Yamato, and they were attacked by these bone fish and the dragon Reigo. Raiga attacks the city and detroys building with comedian and his friends. The military is beginning to protect the city. Hajime sends his daughters to the hotel, and he goes to his mistress. But he decides to return to his daughters. He backs to the hotel and he with his daughters watch the fight. Military planes and tanks attack Raiga, but second Raiga appears and starts fighting with the first Raiga. He kills the first Raiga and marks his territory.

At the end of the film, Hajime decides to spend more time with his daughters. He says the monsters wanted to tell people that Earth is in poor condition we must protect the Earth.

In 2019 the film was released on Blu-ray and VHS by SRS Cinema. In 2020 the film was released on DVD by SRS Cinema.
