History

Kong: King of the Apes

The Adventure Begins

As a child, Richard's mother divorced he and his brother's father and moved to the eastern United States with her new husband, and left her sons in California with their father. On a camping trip in 2039, Richard saw a helicopter crash out in the redwoods, and did his best to locate the crash, following his brother Lukas on the way. En route, Richard stepped in deer scat and was attacked by insects, causing him to vow to one day create a robotic spider to eat them. However, Lukas heard an animal scream and ran off of the trail. The police later arrived at their camp and Lukas came back with a baby gorilla. Richard was far from enthusiastic about the pet, and insisted that he be given to a zoo or laboratory, but ultimately their father allowed Lukas to keep it. Sure that their housekeeper Anita would not allow the beast, which Lukas had named Kong, and was frustrated when she took a liking to the ape as well. As time went on, Richard never warmed up to Kong, and eventually, he started to grow, and quickly outgrew their houseboat entirely. One night, they Remys and Anita awoke to what felt like an earthquake, only for Richard to point out that it was Kong, who was growing so fast that he was breaking the boat. The police arrived, and tried to detain Kong, who ran away with Lukas to a home in the redwoods that his father had purchased without Richard's knowing. He was very much opposed to relocating to the forest, but complied all the same. Leo tried to make it up to Richard with a state of the art laboratory near their new home, and promised to allow his son to work on his dream project: a robotic dinosaur, so long as he was present in the lab, and Richard never used the highly dangerous lasers. In time he created an amazing robotic Tyrannosaurus rex with the ability to stomp paint cans flat, but desired a smooth, sleek design that could only be afforded by Dr. Remy's lasers. His father forbade it, but offered to operate the lasers for him, but Richard refused and stormed out. He then stole his brother's school tablet and when Lukas and Anita couldn't find it, they went into the city to get a new one, leaving the lab empty. Kong tried to keep him from entering, but ultimately, Richard overcomes the beast by feigning seeing his brother, and entered the lab, where he immediately started up the laser, and blew himself and the laboratory up, costing him his right forearm and left eye. A quick operation saved his life, and fitted him with bionic replacements. Rather than show gratitude to his savior, Richard opted to frame Kong for his accident, claiming that he had only entered the lab to get the ape out. Ultimately, Leo discovered that this was a lie, and the boys' mother demanded that he be sent to live with her in Boston. He left on poor terms with everyone.

By 2049, Richard had been working in his father's labs and making incredible advancements in bionics and robotics for three years, which had helped to further his brother's wildlife rescue work. After Kong revealed himself to the world by saving three lost hikers, Richard was furious at his rival's being praised, and within weeks he was summoned to Alcatraz, where his father planned to house Kong and create the "Remy Natural History Museum and Wildlife Preserve", and hoped that Richard would design a state-mandated control collar for Kong to wear. When the intruder alert sounded, Richard prepared to send in Botila, but Kong intervened, and ultimately the intruders were welcomed at Kong's new veterinarian and her brother, despite Richard's reservations. As time went on, Richard grew more resentful of the good-natured and helpful Kong. When demonstrating his Biono-bot pterodactyl, it began to menace Kong, who punched it out of the sky, ruining Richard's plans for a pterodactyl airshow. Now unable to participate in the park's opening, Richard proclaimed to Botila that all natural elements should die and be replaced by bionics and rocotics. When Lukas left to rescue more animals, Richard enacted a plan to make the control collar emit irritating frequencies that would make Kong more violent and irrational as part of his final plan to defame him.

After their father's death a year later, Richard tries to destroy Kong by turning on his shock collar to irritate him. Richard evacuates the island and sends his Biono-bots after him. Kong destroys the Biono-bots. Heavily in debt and in need of upgrading his arsenal to eliminate Kong, Richard set up a plan. Using two rescued ligers as bait, Richard set an army warehouse to blow after Botila stole several crates of weapons he would sell on the black market, all while framing Kong for the incident. He was successful, and vowed to upgrade his bionics to beyond human capabilities.

Snake in the Grass

While he was unable to locate Lukas' hideout due to his impressive firewall, it did not extend to the main city of San Francisco, which allowed him to spy on phone conversations had by his old housekeeper Anita. Botila remarked sarcastically on the brilliance of his "eavesdropping on the elderly", when a conversation between Anita and her great niece Francisca revealed the location of a rare Giant Anaconda, that Richard immediately sent Botila to capture. When she finally returned, he began converting the snake into a cyborg Biono-bot under his direct remote control. Botila was not convinced of its alleged invulnerability, so he had it snap at her, an action she did not find nearly as amusing as he did. Just after this, Kong arrived, and he began controlling the snake to attack Kong, before sending Botila and a Biono-bot Tyrannosaurus to prevent his brother and Doug Jones from stopping him. Unfortunately, they stopped the snake by shoving a helicopter battery into its throat, which overloaded its implants, and took away Richard's control. After this defeat, Richard decided to retrofit all Biono-bots with shielded power sources to prevent their being overloaded, starting with Botila.

Kong in 3D

Richard stole diamonds using a holographic King Kong in order distract the public. He then puts the diamonds on the Biono-bots teeth to use them for mining weapons grade uranium to sell on the black market. He is ultimately unsuccessful due to interference from Kong, Lukas, and Doug Jones. He then volunteers his arsenal of Biono-bots to the United States Military.

Poacher's Prize

Richard creates three "Biono-clones" from a deceased Liger's DNA to sell on the black market. Two of them are stolen by Lukas and Doug, and Richard keeps the last one at Alcatraz. Kong eventually comes to take it, and Richard sends his Giant Squid Biono-bot to attack him. it is defeated and the Liger is taken, leaving Richard in a state of rage.

King's Ransom

Richard kidnaps Amy Quon to tries to get her to reveal the location of Lukas' hideout. He attempts seduction and offering her a position as his assistant. All his efforts are in vain, as Lukas and his friends come to the island and, despite Richard's best efforts, free her.

Little Bots, Big Problems

Richard stages the rescue of two young monkeys and re-opens the Remy Natural History and Marine Reserve. It is Richard's plan to invite many military officials and their families to the park, where he hands out free toy monkeys to the children. When the monkeys are on the military base, Richard activates them and has them steal a fleet of military helicopters. Lukas and his team soon arrive to take the monkeys after Richard makes it look as if the helicopters are leaving. He then has the helicopters return and confront King Kong, who soon destroys them and takes the monkeys away.

Botilazilla

Richard is sought by Police Commissioner Decker for suggestions as to where his brother is hiding. They settle on re-searching their old house, but the police refuse Richard's help on the grounds that his technology had failed them too many times before. Richard then forces Botila's AI into a Biono-bot Tyrannosaurus, and gives her an electric shock when she tries to fight back. While searching his old house, he comes across his brother, who tries to get him to stop chasing Kong. Richard then bashes him with the force-field that he built into his forearm. Lukas pulls a gun on Richard, but he is then knocked to the ground by Botila's Biono-bot head. He is later rescued by Botila, who throws the head back onto him, knocking him unconscious. Richard later decides to inlay Biono-tech into his brain.

Bionic Arms Race

Richard sent a missile toward San Francisco and sent a Biono-bot to destroy it before it made impact. Nearly every Military in the world was then interested in obtaining their own Biono-bot forces for police and military work. Richard then sold Biono-bot armies to the various nations and plotted to take control of them once they were stationed and to take over the world. He is stopped by Doug Jones, who destroys the server for Biono-bot control.

Honey I Shrunk the Kong

Richard uses a shrinking ray to capture King Kong, who escapes the jar he was kept in. Richard then uses his Biono-bot machinery against Kong, but eventually Lukas comes to save his friend. Richard prepares to kill his brother with a laser beam, and absorbs a bullet from Lukas with his force field. He then prepares again to kill Lukas, but he is crushed by Kong. He then prepares to upgrade his mind to place his power beyond Botila, who shrinks him and terminates their relationship.

Kong on Ice

Richard sent Botila and several Biono-bots to the Arctic to melt the ice caps and find gold beneath them. Despite her warnings that the operation would attract Kong, but he continues the work. He soon captures his brother and Doug Jones, whom he leaves with Botila, who allows them to escape. While trying to fly away in their helicopter, the prisoners realized that Richard had taken an important part from the helicopter, and their weapons. Richard then tries to execute Lukas, but Danny Quon throws a snowball at him, causing him to turn his laser on the youth instead. It malfunctioned before he could fire it, and he was captured by his brother while Kong destroyed his Biono-bots. They left him stranded in the Arctic, and Botila put off rescuing him and accommodating him once he had been rescued, causing Richard to reveal to Botila that he had been doubting her trustworthiness, and was planning to replace her. he then prepared to force her to self-destruct, but she turned on him and deleted the codes, putting herself in control of the Biono-bots, and the new Botila.

Takeover

After an attempt to halt Botila's creating of more Botilas, She broke his Bionic arm and forced Richard to flee the island. He seeks help from Lukas, and they then travel the world looking for a place to hide while plotting against Botila. Richard then abandons the team to take Botila on by himself. When he arrives, he takes out one of her doubles, believing it to be the original Botila, and Lukas and Doug arrive to aid him. He then betrays his allies by trying to kill Kong by destroying the bridge to the island, forcing Kong into the water below. Unbeknownst to Richard, Lukas and Danny Quon had taught Kong to swim, and he came to the island, collected his friends, and left Richard to Botila. Richard then revealed to Botila that he had installed a failsafe in his implants, that in the event of his death, Botila and all Biono-bots would be shut down. Botila then revealed that she had a similar failsafe, in which, upon her shutdown, all of Richard's bank accounts would be wiped, and evidence of his criminal activities would be publicly released. The two then called a truce and began to plan for the future.

Robosquitoes

Richard steals plans for his father's Robosquitoes, and uses them to plant mind control chips on the San Francisco Police Department and make them destroy Kong. He is successful, but not for long, as Amy Quon creates an antidote.

Missing

Botila informs Richard that Kong is lost in West Africa, and the two attacked Lukas and his friends after blasting a news crew out of the sky, and then pushing his brother and two children into a volcano, shortly before revealing his scheme to Botila, and unbeknownst to him a TV camera, before She pushes him in.

Rise of Evil

Richard returns from his long absence and stealthily abducts both King Kong and Botila from their respective locations and back to his home-base on Kong Island. It's there that the two prisoners are shocked to discover Richard's fully revealed transformation into a mutated giant with additional cybernetic elements (refereed to as 'Monster Richard' in concept art[1], or 'King Richard' in passing dialog). Richard shares with Botila that he used a combination of his own Biono-bot technology, Kong's DNA via a hair sample, and the stolen knowledge of the advance subterranean apes to achieve his new monstrous form which he'll use to finally have his revenge against all of his enemies.
