Rodan (ラドン Radon) is an irradiated Pteranodon kaiju who will appear in the 2021 animated series, Godzilla: Singular Point. This is the first animated incarnation of the character.

Name

Japanese Rodan's name, Radon, is a truncation of the word Pteranodon. This name was given to the creature because he is a mutated member of the Pteranodon species. The official English name of kaiju is Rodan. The name was changed to avoid confusion with the element Radon.

Design

Unlike the previous Rodan incarnation, this Rodan is more realistic and looks like a real Pteranodon with some elements of Azhdarchids. Like almost all Rodan incarnations, this Rodan has two crests in his head and spikes on his body.
