"The Battle of Monster Island: Son of Godzilla") is a 1967 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Jun Fukuda and written by Shinichi Sekizawa and Kazue Kiba, with special effects by Sadamasa Arikawa. Produced by Toho, it is the eighth installment in the Godzilla series as well as the Showa series. It stars Tadao Takashima, Bibari Maeda, Akira Kubo, Akihiko Hirata, Kenji Sahara, and Yoshio Tsuchiya. The film was released to Japanese theaters on December 16, 1967.[3] As was the case with Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, the Walter Reade Organization released an edited English-dubbed version of the film directly to American television in 1969. |
