The Spacewomen (スーパーウーマン,   Sūpāūman, lit. Superwoman) are a trio of alien superheroines who appear in the 1980 Daiei film, Gamera Super Monster.

Name

The trio are called "Spacewomen" in the international English dub of Gamera Super Monster; in the Japanese version, they are instead called Superwomen (スーパーウーマン,   Sūpāūman).[2][3] The third TVLand Color Club Special Issue separates the name into two words, as Super Women (スーパー・ウーマン,   Sūpā Ūman).[4]. The Gamera, Gappa, Guilala: Special Effects Encyclopedia card series refers to them as Peaceful Star M88 Aliens (平和星M88星人,   Heiwasei Emu Hachijūhachi Seijin).

Individually, the Spacewomen seen in Super Monster are named Kilara (キララ,   Kirara), Mitan (ミータン,   Mītan) and Marsha (マーシャ,   Māsha). These are instead written Kirara, Meatan and Marsya by the aforementioned card series.

Design

The Spacewomen look like ordinary humans. However, when they work together, they wear white uniforms with red trim. Giruge wears a similar uniform, although it is black with red trim instead.
