TOHO Studios Co., Ltd. (TOHOスタジオ株式会社,   Tōhō Sutajio Kabushiki Gaisha) is a subsidiary company and film production arm of Toho Co., Ltd. that is headquartered at Toho Studios in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. It was established in 1971 as Toho Pictures, Inc. (株式会社東宝映画,   Kabushiki Gaisha Tōhō Eiga), an extension of Toho's existing production division. The company merged with Toho Studios Service Co., Ltd. (株式会社東宝スタジオサービス,   Kabushiki Gaisha Tōhō Sutajio Sābisu) to form TOHO Studios on December 1, 2020. All of the Japanese Godzilla films released from 1984 onward were produced by Toho Pictures, with its parent company Toho only providing distribution. The company was also responsible for a number of Toho's other horror and special effects offerings, some of which were co-produced with another of its subsidiaries, Toho Eizo. In 2016, Toho Pictures produced the first live action Japanese Godzilla film in over a decade—Shin Godzilla—alongside Cine Bazar, with financing handled by Toho itself. The renamed TOHO Studios reunited with Cine Bazar for Shin Ultraman in 2022, and also produced 2023's Godzilla Minus One with ROBOT.
