Dinosaur

The skeleton of this Godzilla was *clearly* referred as a "dinosaur skeleton". He is a dinosaur, like you that or no.--Allosaurus (talk) 19:20, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

That doesn't mean he actually is a dinosaur, that's just the best way the character can think to describe him. All signs point to the kaiju of Singular Point having a much weirder origin.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 19:22, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
I know, but Godzilla's skeleton looks exactly like a dinosaur skeleton, Godzilla was always based on dinosaurs, and finally (the most important argument) the series is just filled with prehistoric reptiles like Radons or Anguirus. I don't think it was a random comparison, in movies where Godzilla isn't a dinosaur although looks like a one, like in Shin Godzilla (I mean the final form), there's no mentioning of it. When Toho didn't want to confirm Millenium Gojiras were dinosaurs, they didn't mention its resemblance. But now, when the series is paleo-themed, Gojira was called "a dinosaur". I don't think it's a coincidence. --Allosaurus (talk) 19:32, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
The show is not 'paleo-themed' in the slightest. Rodan was compared to dinosaurs, but it is concluded that he is not one. These are creatures humanity has never seen. Anguirus could've evolved from a Rodan. Speculation about what does and doesn't "look" like a dinosaur is meaningless to the actual narrative of the show. Godzilla hasn't even shown up yet, his origin is far from confirmed. I don't see a point in making such a sure statement about him being a dinosaur on the page without an ounce of evidence.
It's also worth mentioning that the glossary on the Singular Point site refers to the Godzilla skeleton as the bones of an "unidentified creature" the details of which are "completely unknown." Les (main | talk) 19:45, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Radon never was a dinosaur, it is just an innacuracy in the show. But you mean they weren't pterosaurs?! That's just an absurd. I have nothing to say. 😆 And Anguirus didn't evolve from Radon. Just characters think so. Also Gojira remains unindentified, because in-universe this species was never known. -Allosaurus (talk) 19:50, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
I didn't realize you were one of the screenwriters of the show - You know just as much as we do, so I don't know why you're pretending like you have all the answers. Wait for the show to actually reveal these things before you assume they're correct. Les (main | talk) 19:57, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
I didn't realize someone really can think that Radon isn't a pterosaur. Having supernatural powers or being a mythical creature don't mean they can't be classified as normal animals. Mothra is an eternal Goddess, but she is a moth. King Caesar is a mythical warrior, but he is a canine. Heisei Gamera has mystical powers too, but he is a turtle. I just say obvious things. --Allosaurus (talk) 20:12, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
In this show, no, he is not. What part of a radioactive creature that emits radio waves, doesn't have any digestive organs, and doesn't even have homeobox genes (which every living creature on the planet has) sounds like a Pteranodon? They very explicitly say that Rodan's DNA was compared against all known creatures and there was no match. This is why they reinstate the term "kaiju" in the first place, because it's a mysterious creature. We're dealing with factual information, not whatever you happen to find "obvious." Les (main | talk) 20:23, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
No one said it is a Pteranodon, but is a pterosaur, because it is fictional and it was made for a show. "They very explicitly say that Rodan's DNA was compared against all known creatures and there was no match." I didn't realize it is set in Jurassic Park universe, where they have pterosaur DNA. Nobody said it is a real species, like Pteranodon, but it is a new unidentified species of pterosaurs, as said in the series. Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. It is late in my timezone. --Allosaurus (talk) 20:28, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
You're not listening to what I'm saying. Just because it "looks" like something, doesn't mean it is. That isn't how taxonomy works. Rodan is completely outside of the realm of creatures that exist on this planet. Might I re-state he doesn't have homeobox genes, something every multicellular organism in existence has. The monsters in this show have nothing to do with dinosaurs beyond superficial resemblances. We're not putting (blatantly wrong) opinion on these pages just because you say so. Les (main | talk) 20:32, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
The best thing is to remember it is a science fiction series. If you're gonna take the whole series seriously, just wrote "Rodan isn't even an animal, because animals like this don't exist. It's just an abominable something without even main organs". --Allosaurus (talk) 20:49, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Just one more thing. Giant bipedal flying fire-breathing green-blooded mystical creature from Altantis. Sounds like a turtle, right?--Allosaurus (talk) 04:53, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Godzilla Ultima is not being called a dinosaur unless he is confirmed to be one. End of story. Les (main | talk) 04:57, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Radons are confirmed to be pterosaurs.--Allosaurus (talk) 05:22, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

I didn't know you don't watch the series, sorry. --Allosaurus (talk) 05:27, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

This whole conversation makes a compelling argument for just eliminating the "species" field from infoboxes unless the creature has a scientific name.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 13:07, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

Ultima’s height

So I’m hearing some counter arguments that they were referring to the cloud itself, that’s 100 meters tall, and not Godzilla.

Can anyone confirm if this is real? https://twitter.com/kaijunewsoutlet/status/1429268287955873794 -- Keeri'ijra (talk)
