New era in Japan

On April 30, 2019, the current emperor of Japan will abdicate the throne, thus officially ending the Heisei era. Conveniently, we also have a new Godzilla era now. Should it be noted that this (Post-Millennium) era will likely be renamed to whatever Japan's new era will be? While, yes, Shin Godzilla and the anime trilogy were released as Heisei era films, that didn't stop The Return of Godzilla from being classified as a Heisei era film after being released in the Showa era. Naming Godzilla eras after Japanese eras was a bad idea from the start. Personally, I'd rather have Shin and the anime trilogy as their own era (Resurgence?), especially since Toho will be embarking on a shared universe (and thus another reboot) next.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 04:11, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

Is it confirmed the next Toho series will be another reboot? Plus, the Millennium series rebooted itself all the time, so there is precedence for a series with multiple reboots/timelines in it. Should the new era of Japan at least be noted in the trivia section? Xm0c (talk) 14:05, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
The new series isn't going to pick up from Shin Godzilla, and a Millennium-style approach defeats the purpose of a shared universe, so I'd a reboot is all but certain. If the fandom ends up grouping the Post-Millennium movies with whatever follows them, I doubt that era will be named after the new Japanese era; it simply wouldn't be accurate. As for adding trivia, Wikizilla tries to refrain from speculation, and right now that's all we have.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 14:24, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
