"The Eartheater" is the second episode of Godzilla.

Plot

San Francisco, California, is struck by an earthquake, with several buildings collapsing into fissures caused by the disaster. Underground, the actual cause of the earthquake is revealed: a giant monster feeding on the earth beneath the city.

The Calico sails into San Francisco Bay. Quinn is preparing to give a speech at a science convention. On the lower deck, Brock and Pete are looking for Godzooky, who was taking a swim in the bay. After they disembark, the Calico Crew learns that the city is being evacuated. The Golden Gate Bridge is filled with fleeing people, but their combined weight is causing the bridge to become unstable. Majors calls upon Godzilla to help evacuate the citizens; he arrives just in time to break off the unstable piece of the Bridge and place it on a nearby hill.

With San Francisco now deserted, the Calico crew decides to investigate further inland. Upon exploring the city, they discover the sinkholes caused by the monster from earlier, thus debunking their theory of a possible earthquake. As they leave Pete and Godzooky behind in their Jeep to go into the sinkholes for a closer look, a freak aftershock occurs and both Pete and Godzooky are swallowed up by it. As the crew goes to save them, they all notice that the sinkhole leads into an enormous tunnel. The Calico crew continues following into the Tunnel until it reaches a large opening gap inside of it, resembling that of a tunneling network with many other larger holes. Suddenly, the monster notices them and attacks, cutting off their exit. Luckily, Majors shines the Jeep's high beams at the monster, causing it to retreat. The Calico crew escapes.

The monster, who they've now dubbed the Eartheater, pursues them as they reach the surface. With the Godzilla Signal having been lost after Pete and Godzooky fell into the sinkhole, Godzooky himself calls upon Godzilla instead. After a brief scuffle, the Eartheater stuns Godzilla with its sound waves and retreats back underground.

Depositing smoke canisters in every sinkhole they can find, the Calico crew hopes to stun the Eartheater long enough to come up with a way of stopping the monster for good. Instead, the smoke canisters anger the Eartheater even further, who once again returns to the surface, now intent on killing the Calico Crew. Godzooky calls out to Godzilla once again and he and the rest of the crew flee from the Eartheater inside of a cable car. Again, the Eartheater stuns Godzilla with its sound waves and makes for a hasty retreat. He and the Calico Crew begin searching for the monster together.

To everyone's surprise, the Eartheater has climbed up to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Thanks to Godzilla's eye lasers and a few distractions by Godzooky, the bridge collapses from the weight of the monster, and it plunges into the waters of San Fransisco Bay, where it is reduced to a pile of mud. With the Eartheater no more and San Fransisco saved, the Calico Crew and Godzilla bid farewell to one another as they prepare for their next adventure.
