"The Beauty and the Liquid Men") is a 1958 tokusatsu science fiction film directed by Ishiro Honda and written by Takeshi Kimura from a story by Hideo Unagami, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Produced by Toho, it is the first entry in the Transforming Human Series, which was followed by The Secret of the Telegian and The Human Vapor in 1960. It stars Yumi Shirakawa, Kenji Sahara, Akihiko Hirata, Eitaro Ozawa, Koreya Senda, Makoto Sato, and Hisaya Ito. The film was released to Japanese theaters by Toho on June 24, 1958. Columbia Pictures released an edited English-dubbed version of the film to American theaters on May 28, 1959. |
